SwOS/RouterOS powered 24 port Gigabit Ethernet switch with two SFP+ ports, wire speed connectivity with several new switching features! It has “Dual boot” feature that allows you to choose which operating system you prefer to use, RouterOS or SwOS. If you prefer to have a simplified switch only OS with more switch specific features, use SwOS. If you are used to Winbox and would like the ability to use routing and other Layer 3 features on some ports in your CRS, boot and use RouterOS. You can select the desired operating system from RouterOS, from SwOS or from the RouterBOOT loader settings. It gives you all the basic functionality for a managed switch, plus more: allows to manage port-to-port forwarding, apply MAC filter, configure VLANs, mirror traffic, apply bandwidth limitation and even adjust some MAC and IP header fields. SFP cage supports both 1.25 Gb SFP and 10 Gb SFP+ modules.

Powerful Managed SwitchI received a “used” unit. it was evident from the box packing and the fact that the configurations were not “factory defaults”. I had to reset the switch to start using it.TL;DR: Mikrotik is usually preferred over Unifi/TP-Link, if one can afford it, but apparently Unifi/TP-Link of the same class are even more expensive than this one in India, so it’s a no-brainer to go for this one, specially if you like more control over the device and don’t care much about ease-of-use at the expense of lesser control. As for the features, it does come with dual OSes (Router OS being the default). It can do pretty much everything that any switch would do at this price point, and then some. Definitely not missing out on any basic or even advanced features (at this price point, that is), and is definitely recommended over TP Link or Unifi switches, if you care more about features and less about how easy it is to use.Since this offers granular level control so you get to tweak every bit as you want it. It is an overpowered device for small-business or home-server usage.”RM” version comes with Rack Mount. Doesn’t have any Fan inside of it and doesn’t really get hot even if you’re pushing it to the limits, to concerning limits, that is. It comes with external 12V DC Adapter to power it.If I would’ve gone for the POE version if that was available, but it wasn’t so this will have to do. No regrets.
