The fastest and most configurable home router I have encountered. While this router is billed as a IP Version 6 router, it comes configured as an IP Version 4 like all the rest. While it it is configurable to the extreme, the defaults are set so even a novice can make it work. Follow the instructions to download the phone app then start the app and follow the instructions. Plug it into your modem and you have a working internet system. It is that easy. Then you can configure automatic switching to a backup network feed for times when the main access fails along with many more options for the advanced user.I would have loved to give this router a 5 star rating, but there is one major problem for me. The user interface is hard to read. The characters are too small, it has grey letters on a dark back ground and other flaws.Hey folks you are not building an artististic masterpiece. You are, or at least seem to be, building a useful tool.. Useful tools don’t need all the FrouFrou Please stick to black type on a white screen like words in a book. It will make everyone much happier. (NOTE: You did it right on the Advanced interface)Note to developers. You do not have a way in the standard interface to put the customer friendly name on the entries in the Static IP Address Binding screen. You display it after it is entered on the advanced screen, but sending a novice user to the advanced interface will likley causes you a lot of customer service calls.

Powerful enough to run Wireguard and AdGuard Home with no lagWell, technically, I also purchased it based on my two previous routers by them, so I’m familiar with how easy the firmware is to use. While I love my travel routers, ar-750 and ar-750s, I really wanted something with a bit more power to run AdGuard Home. While I’ve always considered myself to be just savvy enough to get things going, but not enough to be able to fully understand it all, networking is one area I’ve always struggled with. My attempts at running a pfsense machine were met with frustration. Raspberry pi’s have not been obtainable (within reason $) for awhile, so that hasn’t been a viable option.*GL-AX1800 enters the chat*This router does the basics that I needed it to do. I need simple and their routers have been just that for me.The most difficult part of this router was not being able to log into it and randomly guessing that the password might be the same as on their other routers. Apparently I have the older version with no pass printed on the bottom, the newer ones apparently do. Minor blip, but was frustrating at first.VPN – As simple as uploading your config files from your provider. The other day I decided to test a different provider that has a dedicated wireguard set up built in already and it was equally as easy.AdGuard Home – This was my main reason for upgrading from a travel model. While the travel routers do have an option for ad blocking, that I used successfully for a few years, I do realize that they are a bit under powered to handle large block lists. So far this router handles them exceptionally well. Here you can load up multiple block lists without slowing things down. You also have options to set DNS servers as well. The only thing that has slowed this thing down is loading a wireguard config file that had every configuration added (I since trimmed down the list to just a few selections and problem solved).Overall this router has been a huge upgrade. It already has an advanced firmware ready to go, and no unnecessary bloat. I find it simple enough to recommend to anyone not so technically inclined, and also to those with much more knowledge in regards to creating specific networks. If I had to name one or two negatives then I’d mention the whole missing default password thing, and the fact that the antennas are not removable. Something about not being able to remove them annoys me, but I don’t have any concrete reason for it.

Powerful and open source routerStrong signal, WiFi 6 and has AdGuard and VPN built in. Doesn’t mesh, though, but that feature maybe coming in the future. OpenWRT means you have a lot of configuration options, but you do have to do some research to determine how to set them up properly. I really like the easy configuration of either OpenVPN or WireGuard, which lets you secure your entire network instead of one device. If you have a device that won’t work with a VPN, you can set exceptions based on MAC or IP. I move to the Flint from their Slate travel router and my connection speed is much faster and reliable.

Worth the moneyMy complex provides fiber internet as a hotshot throughout with a captive portal. I was able to log in, join the service and the router remained logged in the whole time. From time to time it will get kicked off but it will choose the alternate connection I’ve set it up for.The connections are fast. I’ve connected to my VPN using wireguard and am using the ad guard as well. Surfing is smooth on either my 5 or 2.4 WAN. My speed, which is relegated to the VPN, works very well. The stability of the router is very good thus far. I experienced some lock ups which required me to unplug the router. (More about this later).I have several smart devices such as a Google Nest, a Bose smart speaker, Samsung TV and a Fire stick. Neither of these likes to go through the VPN. On my Fire stick I noticed that Amazon Prime will not work. Disney works, Netflix works. To get everything on the Fire stick to work, I set up VPN rules now. I made the router route all selected MAC addresses through the VPN so all my other devices bypass the VPN. Oh, once you set up the VPN rules it helped to reboot the router. It took me some time to figure this out so I wanted to pass this on to those that might have a similar situation at their home. I’ve set up the router for remote access and I use the app. Both work very well. Note, you can’t control the VPN settings remotely. If you’re connected to the router, the app does it all. On the web based remote access, it has a living map but I haven’t figured that out so it doesn’t display my location on the map.Summary: the first works very well. The drops and pick ups I was experiencing were, from what I could tell, from the VPN server. I’ll make an update later now that I’m using my current configuration of having all my smart devices bypass the VPN.

Great Device for the Privacy and Security ConsciousWe trust our network infrastructure with so much of our privacy and security, I want to feel like the manufacturer’s ethics and business model are in the right place. The vast majority of manufacturers appear to be moving in the wrong direction, highly proprietary OS and features, minimal support for FOSS options, built in subscription services and “premium features”.For a non-US company, GL-iNet seems to be about as good as it gets: security focused, avid supporters of FOSS, and relatively no-frills design.Overall it occupies a great medium between accepting ancient hardware in order to ensure dependable FOSS functionality, and writing transparency off in order to get access to the latest and great. While this machine can’t hold a candle to some of the rediculous Wifi 6 gaming routers out there, those routers cost more then twice what this one does.Plus, it’s still faster then my Internet connection (which is the performance ceiling for most households) and is more then adequate for a cable-cut household of 4.My only complaint is a weird bug that wouldn’t accept capital letters in the paswrod for non-5G, and that this device seems to run a wee bit hot even under relatively low load.Looking forward to the manufacturers promised firmware update to include mesh functionality, but I might not bother as it covers my entire ~2K ft, 2 story home from a central location.Planning to fiddle more with the VPN and NAS functionality in the future. that it’s a really adequate home router for a cable-cut household of 4, where most of our video entertainment is served through the wifi.

Goofy dual interfaceThe router has two interfaces. A basic user friendly one and the advanced OpenWrt interface we all know and love. For whatever reason though, a lot of settings made in one interface are not reflected in the other. Some settings wouldn’t stick unless I used the basic interface. And then those settings wouldn’t be presented in the other despite appearing to work. Even primary stuff like the router’s IP address would show as a DHCP obtained address in the basic interface even though I set a static IP in OpenWrt and was in fact using that static IP to access both interfaces. Forget about doing the complex networking I intended this for.On top of that I bricked the device twice just by doing regular tasks. Once by restoring settings from a backup. The second time while updating the firmware in hopes of resolving the above issues. Had to factory reset and lose all settings. Twice. I’m done. Returned it.

does its job wellI currently have three WiFi routers at my house.1) combo DSL modem/router provided by AT&T, my internet service provider. I have turned off wifi capabilities on this device and use this purely as a DSL modem.2)

    TP-Link Archer AX11000 WiFi 6 router

for all internet access except for streaming services (through VPN). An excellent router but lacks VPN client support.3)

    GL.iNet GL-AX1800 (Flint) WiFi6

for streaming services through VPN (mostly to access content that is blocked in my geographical location). Also, rumor has it there is at least one device in my house running few not-so-trustworthy add-ons in Kodi! Both GL.iNet and TP-Link routers are connected to DSL modem through network cables. What do I like about this router?* easy setup through web browser* VPN configuration as simple as uploading (through web admin interface of this router) the configuration files from VPN provider* supports Wireguard VPN protocol* free AdGuard service blocking ads and trackers* kill switch (stops internet access when VPN connection drops)* great coverage throughout my house (even though I use the “Low” Transmission Power setting. The choices are Max, High, Medium, Low)* Wireguard speeds are good for my use case. Per speedtest: 40ms ping, 45Mbps download, 20Mbps upload. This is excellent considering that the max speed my DSL service gives me is only 75Mbps.Cons according to me?* no way to turn off the lone LED on this device. (TP-Link routers allow turning off all lights. It can even be scheduled for when they stay on and when they are off.)* no way to schedule automatic reboot of the router, I have to remember to manually reboot the router (through web interface) once a month or so to keep it running smoothly. This reboot is not a rule or recommendation but I just do it. (my ASUS router provides scheduling to automatically reboot once any day of the month/week. I have it scheduled for the first day of every month. Haven’t had to log into ASUS router for years since initial setup.)Although this router is small, sleek, and whisper quiet, I don’t make purchasing decision based on how the router looks. As long as all it does is sit in the house where it is placed and does its job well, I don’t even have to look at it. And this GL.iNet router does its job well. Hasn’t been any problem for over four months that I’ve had this.More details, with images, on my blog.

Reaching stated wireguard speedsThe media could not be loaded.

So far no real issue with product, tested the speeds and I’m hitting max rating in video. It tends to peak at 600Mbps down only to slowly lower before the end of the run (suspected CPU thermal throttling).Wireguard works pretty well too, all in all for what I need I am pleased, still need to set it up some more but yeah happy with it so far.Oh and my internet is 1000Mbps up/down

Can have a WiFi channel for VPNI wanted a router that could ideally do basic router functions, and a WIFI channel with fast VPN.This router did what I wanted. Under VPN – VPN policies, turn on VPN for guest networks and turn off VPN for all functions. Now my guest wifi has the VPN. So I have 4 SSIDs, 2.4ghz and 5 ghz without VPN, and 2.4ghz and 5ghz with VPN.You can also set VPN or no VPN by IP address or MAC. My VPN is SurfShark and I used wireguard setup.Update: been using for a month now and I love it. The adgaurd feature has no noticeable effect on surfing, but getting into technical data it blocks a lot of data broker activity. This is good for your security. For normal internet surfing, my laptop connects with a VPN WiFi. I switch to non – VPN WiFi for banking, then switch back to VPN. This way I can easily connect with or without VPN, and it does not matter if Linux, Windows, Android, whatever connects by WiFi.

I’m impressed. And I don’t usually say thisFirst of, this isn’t a paid or sponsored review. I first started using one of their travel routers years and years ago. I bought this router, because I knew the brand, it seemed to get great reviews, and I wanted to try out wireguard. So… installation and setup: Beyond easy. They have an apple and google app, or you can just go to the default gateway (192.168.8.1) and do the setup. I also have to say KUDOS for using the 192.168.8/24 network. I loathe all those companies that use 192.168.1/24.So wireguard setup was a snap. Generated my wireguard config, cut and pasted it into the wizard for the GliSetup, and connected. Its been connected at this point for about 2 days, no random disconnects. Blocks internet traffic correctly if wireguard drops, and even has an additional internet kill toggle. It does support OpenVPN too, but I’ve not tried it. No need.Speed. I have 2.5Gb fiber internet. Right now I can say I’m getting about 200Mb up and 200Mb down just fine off this box, so I can’t complain about that. What I can say, is its “about” the same speed as I was getting from my desktop using a windows app. For this box to say the same – wow. I’m impressed. I’m so used to router performance being much more poor than a windows app.I’ve tested using two computers behind this on its network so far, and both are not seeming to have any performance. While two PC’s were downloading, I did a speed test, and the CPU was seemingly able to handle the performance with more bandwidth remaining. So, again, I’m am impressed. If you want simple configuration, for the first time ever using wireguard, and you’re not a networking expert… I would say you’re going to get this up and running and have no issues whatsoever.Ease of setup: 10/10Value: 11/10 (so many other routers cost soo much more and don’t offer any performance improvement)Mobile App: 10/10 easy to use and configure wizard.bottom line: Expert or novice if you want great performance at a fantastic price for wireguard this is your router!

Simple & GreatI read a lot of comments about how difficult the setup was. It is not.See the attached picture: you can connect via LAN or Wi-Fi out of the box, set an admin password, and configure it however you like. I honestly don’t understand those comments, it took me one minute to get it running. The interface is simple and clean, and you can access LuCI directly if you need a more complex configuration. It’s true it doesn’t support vanilla OpenWrt (yet, work is in progress for IPQ6000) but the available beta (4.1.0 release3, as of today) is based on the latest OpenWrt 22.03 and works like a charm.I also read a comment about how the configuration of this device IP address was restricted to certain values. This is not the case, at least not on the current firmware. It’s similar in range and performance to the Archer AX10 it replaced, but it’s much more stable and easier to use.Overall, I’d highly recommend it.

Wireguard!I stumbled upon this product due to frequent hotel use and it worked well. I was able to use security cameras and Chromecast with ease and not call tech support to enable a Mac address. I was also able to conceal internet traffic and my location. When I settled down I found this excellent product. They have recently upgraded the app to setup Wireguard on more providers that I won’t name, giving a huge speed increase from barely 50-100 Mbps to almost near my internet connection speed of 500 Mbps. I stumbled upon this playing with the app.The VPN provider that is much cheaper than ExpressVPN has not updated their website with this feature for VPN on router. You won’t be able to do this with the router GUI, it can only be done on the app. Somehow it pulls the config files to set it all up.

Nice open-wrt wifi ax router for the money.Nice. Works well out of the box. If you are not a networking/computer geek, gl.inet have added their own web interface that is pretty good and helps with basic and intermediate setup, but for the more sophisticated it can be configured through open-wrt Luci web interface or ssh command line. Unfortunately, it is shipped with a very old version (15) of open-wrt. I updated to their newer beta version (21) which is doing a nice job for me so far, but not fully stable. Though, I am not yet using many advanced features like OpenVPN or Adguard. They are actively working on a stable version 21. Anyway, it delivers on the speeds it claims. Happy with this router and having the power and configurability of open-wrt. (Only complaints are that the antennas only hinge in one direction, don’t swivel, and wish it had come with the (ZigBee?) IoT radio interface shown in internal hardware pics on their website.)

Powerful Router with Easy SetupI am using Flint as a secondary Wifi 6 router for a guest network that also employs a Wireguard client. The WireGuard VPN client support for Mullvad and probably other VPN services is excellent. It has VPN policy based routing and an Internet Kill switch if the VPN service goes down. Wireguard setup was automatic and literally a snap with Mullvad. Wireguard speeds, from a 700 mb/s home connection, are from 200-300 mb/s depending on distance from the router.I used the default AX-1800 subnet and connected its WAN port to one of the LAN ports of my main router. The AdGuardHome functionality is excellent and adds further protection for the secondary network. The mobile app seems simple and straightforward. The latest release firmware is from 5/2022- about two months ago. The firmware is based off of QSDK OpenWRT.I have just started using this router and performance and stability have been good so far- but I will update my review if any issues arise.I have a large number of devices on my main network and I believe I needed something more powerful than a 1800 AX router for my main router- however the feature set, simplicity and support are excellent at this price point.Technical support via email is excellent- and probably unusual at these price points.

Works like a champ – using as Wireguard client connecting to a private VPN serverThis GL.iNet GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router – Dual Band Gigabit Wireless Router works like a champ! I have it set up as a Wireguard client connecting to a private VPN server. I have gigabit fibre connecting to the internet at each end. The wireless clients are getting speed test results of around 250 Mbps. I am tech savvy, so I found the dashboard interface intuitive and easy to set up.My only issue is that one application does not work with IPV6 enabled over VPN on the router. It does not see the VPN connection and therefore stays geo-locked. Once I turned off IPV6 – that specific application started working over VPN. All my other applications work fine with the Wireguard client setup.Great router and performance at a great price point.

Great functionality and securityThis has one of the best implementations of WRT, and is a very secure router. I scanned it with a couple of security scanners, including Nmap and it does well. The only two things are, the Adblocker built it does not function when the router is used in AP mode. The second is the range of the WIFI, is not as good as it should be. At 40 Feet with one wall it is 100% but, 45 feet and thru two walls it drops to 85% and fluctuates. It should not do that. I have to purchase a different WRT router that has a stronger WIFI signal, which means this one has to be repurposed.

Who is this for? This router only have 128 megabyte storage for the entire operating system. As soon as you install AdGuard you basically run out of space and the unit starts becoming unstable. This is got to be one of the stupidest design I have ever seen in my life. How can you make a device that gives you open source freedom to do whatever you want and then put a max 128 MB capacity into it? You have to be extremely dumb to do something like this. I inserted a USB 3.0 flash drive (ext4) and mounted it using fstab, then installed ADGuard to it which seems to work however it doesn’t survive reboot. Up on reboot the USB flash storage will mount again however, there is a race condition which makes AdGuard crash and fails to start up. Google search will tell you how to do this with a USB flash drive in another way however those instructions are no longer valid due to the firmware update. With AdGuard if you have over 15 computers this router will overheat and freeze. The CPU just doesn’t have proper cooling to handle 15 computers while blocking ads.In the router you have list of other apps that you can install but it’s all useless due to the limited 40 mb space free.Don’t bother buying this and instead buy the travel router of this version which has a microSD slot, that seems to work much better and be much more stable. For your home main router I wouldn’t recommend this brand at all. They over price for a device that is not even 1/4 of $25 raspberry pi.

Fantastic Value VPN routerDoes the job you want a VPN router to do!Be sure to update the firmware to the latest beta release to get the most out of it. It increased my wireguard speeds and added the ability to split the VPN off to my guest network, giving me both a non VPN VLAN and a VPN VLAN all in one router!Impressed with such an affordable router.

Solved my issuesGreat device. Replaced a smaller gl.iNet because of speed issues. This device uses less power, has better heat dissipation, and has better WiFi. I am using this in my RV and off my solar. I had the Slate (GL-AR750S-Ext) and I upgraded to the Beryl (GL-MT1300) because it was supposed to be faster but it isn’t that much faster. My only issue is that I went through 3 units to find this one because of misleading information on their site. Throughout on the other two are just barely over 5-20 mb.

GLI net glax1800I wanted to use this router but the software was just not ready for prime time. I could not get it to change to a repeater and the software would not respond at times. Also the antenna placements got in the way of cable access. The power cord is also too short to place in some locations where the plug is farther away. Needless to say it was ticking the right boxes but it just did not perform much better than the one I already had.

CHEAP CHINESE JUNK THAT DOES NOT WORKI am returning this router because it is total junk. I have spent the day trying to log into the router’s settings with NO success. I tried to access it first using ethernet, then via wireless. Their app instructed to access settings using bluetooth – what a joke. The router comes packaged with no usable instructions. It does come with info instructing you download an app and the link. I did do the download, but the app was useless. Even using the app I was NOT allowed into the settings. The router did communicate with my android phone when I tethered the phone to the router. My phone would tether. I could never get the router to do anything more. This router is not either intuitive or user friendly. It is very poorly designed for user interface and setup.Don’t waste your time with this piece of junk. I went to Youtube videos hoping to obtain help. I watched GL.iNet produced videos that were supposedly intended to help the user setup their router. These were a total waste of time and NO help – a continuation of their useless junk!I will NEVER purchase another of their products ever ever ever again in my lifetime. Never have I seen such ineptitude developed for the user to setup up a product for use. LOLI will be returning this piece of unusable cheap Chinese junk to the seller!!

Faster and easier router! You could use GL.iNet mobile app to setup the GL-AX1800(Flint), but you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to, ethernet cable is another setup option. For the initial setup, you could plug the ethernet cable from your computer to the AX1800, you can use your computer web browser to go to the admin panel (192.168.8.1) and start the router setup. Also, the Flint supports AdGuard Home which is a dedicated Internet filtering software for blocking ads and online trackers, I use it for blocking the ads and parental control. The internet speed of Wiregurad VPN is so amazing, I got around 550 Mbps with AX1800, it is much much better than my old router. If you need a fast and stable VPN router, the AX1800 is a great choice for you.

Great routerThe signal is improved from my last router. Also, the internet speed is much faster with AX1800 than my old AC router. The OpenVPN speed reaches around 100Mbps, I could use it to watch YouTube and Netflix fluently.I could set it up and manage it by web and app. Setting it up went easily with the mobile app, just follow the app instruction and finish all things within 5mins.It has a USB connection!!! I can connect it to the Internet using a USB 3G/4G modem. Also, I can connect it to my portable USB to share files, videos and pics to my home network. In conclusion, it is a very nice AX router, would recommend it to my friends!

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH EASYTETHER YETThis is a fantastic router for the price, currently using it to piggyback a crappy reception of the only isp that is offered in the area. However the one reason I bought this to use as a tether router with my phone, is currently unsupported on this qualcomm chipset. Hoping it comes in the future but if you are looking to share an unsupported tether from a phone requiring pdanet or easytether, this router is not it, go for the earlier versions like slate.

Great and Simple! The setup is very easy. Just scan a QR code code to download the app and follow the instruction to set up. I’m using it as a Wireguard VPN client router and I’m really happy with the performance. It’s great at it! I get 500mbps and it’s almost at max speed. I can use it to watch YouTube and Netflix without any slowdown. The 4 built-in antennas provide great coverage throughout my townhome. The only thing is the external antenna is not detachable. It’d be great if I can detach it.

Nice AX router! Satisfy with the VPN speed, free Ads Block serviceI got around 100Mbps with OpenVPN, it is the fastest speed I tried before and it let me enjoy fluent gaming and streaming. I will try the WireGuard later, it seems that the WireGuard is faster than OpenVPN.The AX1800 also provides a free AdGuard Home service, I could use it to get rid of intrusive ads and online tracking, and to protect the computer from malware. It is a charged function from other brands and it helps me block lots of ads every day.

Extremely Versatile WiFi6 Wireguard RouterVery cost-effective for the price vs performance! Very good wireguard speeds and easy set up of wireguard server-client. Extremely versatile configuration with very good wifi 6 range too. Highly recommended. App setup could be improved especially in the WAN tab though.

Everything that I expectedI’ve used several GL.iNet products in the past and continue to use them. I bought this router to replace a GL-MV1000W Brume-W. I’ve been really happy with that one, but the wireless range is a bit limited. This router covers my whole home without issue. It was simple to configure. I was able to get everything set up in less than 15 minutes. The web interface is very easy to work with. Bear in mind that I have used their products before, so your setup time may vary. Performance is everything that I hoped it would be.

Fatally flawed for meI really wanted to like this router as specs were excellent and the price was really good.Unfortunately, the router has a fatal flaw for me. The setup UI restricts the LAN IP address to one of three or four, none of which match the (admittedly non-standard) requirements of my local network, which needs the router IP to be 192.1.1.250. Every other router I’ve tried allows me to set the LAN IP to any arbitrary IP.I bought two of these routers so I could use one as a WiFi bridge. Because of the LAN IP address limitation, I wound up using an old router to connect to my ISP, and used the two new routers as a WiFi access point and WiFi bridge. They are working well for that, and I am getting good WiFi speed. Unfortunately that means I can’t use the VPN client in the GL.inet router, which is one of the main reasons I bought it. So now I will have to get yet another router that will support both a VPN client and the LAN IP address that I need.Minor nitpick: There is no ability in the router UI to whitelist WiFi clients by MAC address. This leaves my network more vulnerable.Update 12/2/2022: With the latest firmware release (v4.1) it is now possible to whitelist and blacklist WiFi clients by MAC address. It’s not in the main router GUI, though, you must use the LuCi GUI to use this feature (not a limitation, just noting it).

Incredibly solid wireless routerI’m using this as a wireless access point and am really happy with it. The underlying OS is based on OpenWRT, so it’s really easy to set up but also has a ton of add-on functionality that you can install/enable.I was able to set up a primary wireless network and a guest network & configure firewall rules to keep the traffic isolated. Signal strength is good (and transmit power can be further configured), and I’ve noticed a definite improvement in connection speed.

We had problems. Now it’s broken. Our previous router died without warning, so I replaced it with a travel router (the GL.iNet Slate). It worked so well, I decided to get its big brother (the GL.iNet Flint).A couple weeks in we started having intermittent trouble with the internet. The AdGuard page was showing strange stats, so I suspect AdGuard was screwing up our DNS. I turned it off, and the problem was resolved. A week or two after that, I noticed the storage was maxed out for no good reason. I had not installed any apps. I reset it to factory and didn’t enable anything. Problem resolved. And today, after owning the router about six weeks, it quit working altogether. Problem not solved. :-(Our house is once again running on the travel router (the Slate), which has a surprisingly good range for its size and purpose. I cannot recommend the Slate travel router enough. But unfortunately I cannot recommend the full-size Flint router at all!

Needs improvementI’m a big fan of Gl inet.I bought this for the Wifi6 and Wireguard VPN features but the wifi has been instable, with packet loss. In all fairness sometimes it takes Gl inet a bit of time to work out the kinks on a new device so this may eventually fix itself with an update. But at this moment, I can’t recommend.

So Far It Has Been Fast and ReliableI just set this router up a few hours ago to be my wireless testing ground, so to speak.I have found it to be much more stable and reliable than my previous experiences with GL-Inet products. I had the Velica mesh before this, I was frustrated by its inability to maintain the mesh after a firmware update. This single router has been stable and reliable, but it has its own issues. It has the same default password as other Velica routers. So I assume GL-Inet sets all of their routers this way. I was able to change the ssids separately, but had issues doing so on the Velicas. Frustratingly, on this router, every change in the app disconnects me and I have to reconnect. This occurred even when I was editing a band (for example, 2.4gz) that I wasn’t even connected to.I didn’t understand why the 5ghz bands only supported 20mhz channel width. After a firmware update though, this was resolved. I could see 80 Mhz channel widths. Unfortunately, if you change then channel width back to 20 Mhz, you lose the option to change it back to 80 Mhz! The same goes for the 2.4Ghz band’s 40 Mhz setting. Once you set it to 20, you can’t revert! I was afraid this would happen, but had to try it anyway to satisfy my curiosity. It comes with a short Cat 6 Ethernet cable and an annoyingly large international power adapter and US plug that you have to assemble (not a big deal in the scheme of things). The router feels solid and the antennas are robust. The app has some language translation problems, but nothing too egregious.Overall, I found this to be a nice, yet buggy, experience. I was excited by open-source software, but this implementation really hides the benefits.

Going strongI’ve had quite a few routers crap out on me after a couple months, but this one has stuck with it for 6 so far and I’ve had nothing but nice things to say about it.The multi-antenna setup is nice, being able to angle them all differently makes a noticeable difference for some products, like my Xbox in a different room that I couldn’t get an ethernet cable to.

Great for OpenVPN and TetheringI bought the AX1800 because of the OpenVPN and cell phone Tethering capabilities. I am using NordVPN OpenVPN installed on the router and getting 80+mbps down. Works great! WiFi 6 to complement my cableI have a 1GB cable connection and this router is a great match for it. Wired I have a couple of devices and can max out my connection. Wireless I have maybe 30 devices connected to it and it handles them without issues (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz). I have no issues getting a connection in my entire 1300 sqft apartment.Configuration is simple in the Gl.iNet interface. The UI is clear but pretty basic. There is a way to get into the original OpenWRT UI via Lucy. Things get a bit more advanced there, but still missing some key features that exist in the newer versions of OpenWRT. For example there is no possibility to do MAC filtering.Looking at the OpenWRT forums people have been able to get some unofficial versions of the latest version loaded into this router and download links are there. But still very unofficial support as of now. But it looks promising.Overall I am happy with this router. No dropped connections or issues for weeks. Just what a router is supposed to do.

A Tremendous value for a 802.11ax routerYou will get the most out of this router if you are techy and know what to do with open source software like AdGaurd. I feel like there is so much value here. I am coming from a TP-Link 802.11ac router, which has been pretty great. I like what it could do, but this is a step up in every way. I used to run Pi-hole for ad blocking, but this is already running similar software and it is native to the router. I love that. There are tons of options here. I would use OpenVPN to create a tunnel to my home router which hosted other cybersecurity software. The performance wasn’t terrbible, but WireGuard is the next level up. If you know a thing or two about networking, you will get the most out of it. If you don’t, then you are getting a really good router for under $100. I give it 5 stars, because it is a step up for me. It has some quirks, but so do the big names like TP-link etc. This is a good entry point into the next Wifi standard at a good price.

Difficult SetupThis is my fourth or fifth time setting up a router. It’s usually straightforward. On my previous router, I had flashed DD-WRT. It was a breeze. This is not. It doesn’t seem to be saving settings correctly. I have to disconnect from the Wi-Fi, reconnect, and then refresh the page in order to change a single setting. On top of that, it did not like enabling AdGuard without internet; I can no longer access the web interface. After spending 2 hours trying to set this up, I’m about to return it.

Good value, room for improvementsGL.iNet is a reputable brand, making various well-supported wireless access devices, both using community software (OpenWRT) while also contributing back. This model, however, uses an outdated code base (OpenWRT 15) where even their other older models are based from more current code (OpenWRT 21 is current) which is some cause for concern. All the GL.iNet models support auto-update (not enabled by default though), so this could be alleviated in a future update. Maybe related to the code (or hardware, it’s hard to tell) is that the WiFi throughput seems to be more limited (~20% less) than even older AC-based routers. For more advanced uses, there is ~55MB available for OpenWRT packages, but still limited by the older OS version. The AX1800 has a USB3 port, though it is oddly placed on the left side instead of the back as most routers do. It does tend to get warm, and oddly there are no ventilation grills on the top to allow the heat to escape easier, only the bottom and the side. The antennae also fold all the way back to allow for wall mounting. The maximum power draw I measured was around 7W, though the power supply supports up to 12W (1A@12V).Pros:+ based on OpenWRT (lots of customizations)+ auto update+ UI customizations to make many tasks easier+ WiFi ax support on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz+ Gb support on all wired ports+ USB3 portCons/improvements:- hot and poorly ventilated- slower throughput- slight whine- older OS code base- USB port on the side

It was a task to set it up, but it works wellThis router works very well once set up but it wasn’t the easiest of devices to get working. When I first plugged it in I couldn’t find a wifi network at all to set it up with. I had to reset it about 4 times before it came to life. The app didn’t want to communicate with it to start and the instructions can only be found via a PDF online as it comes with very basic instructions in the box.Otherwise the range is very good, supports WIFI6 and WPA3. You can also seperate the 5ghz snd 2.4ghz bands for devices that don’t support 5Ghz.The antennas don’t adjust very well and will only stick straight up as far as I can tell. I didn’t try harder because I didn’t want to break them offHas built in VPN and TOR support which is nice on an off brand router. I’m getting my max internet speed through this (about 400mbps)The build quality seems decent and it has a USB port for remote file sharing (think of it as your own cloud drive)

Initial issues that have been resolved now.I purchased it directly from the manufacturer and I absolutely cannot recommend this router to anyone that wishes to use it as their primary device.I pre-ordered my AX1800 on Aug 24th and received it on October 18th. But it has this high pitched beeping that constantly happens ever since day one, I have tired to factory reset it and looked within LUCI to see if there is any option to turn it off but doesnt seem like there is speaker that could be making this noise and issue seems to be more because of hardware issue.I also have an issue where the Router seems to hit 100% memory usage every 20-26 hours and crashes causing all devices on my network to be dropped. If i have adguard or wireguard server running 100% memory use happens at around 14-18 hour mark causing this issue to happen again.I purchased this router primarily for ADguard and Wireguard reasons.Update 1/29/22 – so the manufacturer shipped me a replacement which does not have high pitched noise issue. Newest firmware update 3.208 has resolved the memory issues and I can now run adguard and wireguard for about 10 days before needing to reboot.

good signalI encountered some confusions in installations but I managed to figure them out: – There are two gli.net app on Apple store (as well as on the webpage directed by the QR code). The green app is the one to use. – Activation requires the above app. But the app needs to be connected to a modem before it’s able to detect the router. The app won’t work if this router is connected to the modem-router combo rented from Xfinity. The rest of installation was straightforward.I have a 600Mb plan from Xfinity. Ethernet connection to my modem measures 600+Mb download speed. Wifi from this router measures ~ 400Mb on my iphone 12 when it’s placed right next to the router. Signal remains strong ~ 40 feet away behind a wall, I could still get ~150-200Mb on the same phone.

Strong signal but some minor problemsOkay, well I did something I’ve never done before: add a router to my gateway and have them both transmit the same SSID and have the same password. There’s a method to my madness. I’m getting a new modem next week. It’s just a modem; not a gateway like I have right now (i.e., no wi-fi). So, I got this router and set it up with the same SSID and password so that I can add this router to that modem instantly without having to go through the house and reconnect everything. This is how I’ve done the swap for years and it’s always worked. As I am setting this router up ahead of time, I decided to keep it hooked up to the gateway. The signal is definitely stronger than before, but I don’t know if it’s because of the unusual setup. If it’s a weak signal later on, I will come back to update this. What I do want to address is the app. I cannot sign up. It won’t let me. There appears to be two versions of the app, which is confusing to say the least. I can’t sign up with either app anyway. They are glitchy. To set up the router, I went the traditional route through the browser. If you don’t have any experience doing that; well, the router comes with absolutely no instructions and no password. I had to look that up online. Once on the router page, it was fairly easy to navigate and change all the settings. I tried to reset the settings using the pinhole on the router, but that did not work. Not sure what I did wrong, but I tried everything in my arsenal to reset that way and it did not work. However, I actually like how I had set it and don’t really need to reset it.I’m removing one star for the app. It’s just one star because I probably would never use the app anyway. I like the strong signal so far and I hope that this will play well by itself with the new modem._______UPDATE 1/14/22: This router definitely gives me a much stronger signal than the old gateway. I can see the Wi-Fi outside without a repeater. It is handling my 20+ devices just fine.

I think you will like it…My husband installed this Flint Modem.it is easy to install. He initially wondered why there were no idiot proof instruction papers in the Flint box.By using the Glinet App, you can install it with or without the Cloud and it walks you through the installation rather easily. You connect to the modem via Bluetooth, then set passwords for both the admin account and for accessing the modem. My husband connected the modem by Ethernet cable, but you can also use this modem as a repeater. To modify the modem setup after you install it, you simply connect via a browser to 192.168.8.1/#/internet which allows you to change it as you wish.As an experiment, my husband changed it from a cable connection to a repeater, which worked perfectly. You can set it up as you wish. This modem is MU-MIMO, multiple users – multiple inputs multiple outputs, so it can support many devices at the same time, up to 120 devices simultaneously.it broadcasts on both 2.4GHz and the 5 GHz channels, so newer devices can use the 5 GHz spectrum. There are 5 Ethernet ports as well, so you could connect other devices with Ethernet cables as well.WiFi 6 is the latest and fastest available, so this is very current technology. This modem supports many VPNs.The product page says it has ad blocking software, but we have not implemented this yet. This is a really modem.i think you will like it.i hope you find this review helpful.Sabine 🙂

Not BadThis is a pretty good home WiFi router. The market is quite crowded so it comes down to taking your pick.First thing is that this router supports all the newer, up-to-date protocols (including WPA 3). Keep in mind that if you use WPA 3 and you have older devices, some don’t support it and won’t be able to link up. If you don’t have that problem, you should definitely switch from WPA2 to WPA3.Keep in mind that WiFi is a shared bandwidth device, kind of like the old hubs. The 600 mbps (2.4 ghz) and 1200 mbps (5 ghz) speeds are not per device. It’s shard among all devices logged into the system. In addition, even if you are using WPA3, it is not even close to 100% secure. That’s where the next benefit comes in. You have multiple gigabit ethernet ports. Best case scenario – wire things up. You can add a switch to this easily to expand the number of ports if you need. The nice thing is, the gigabit speeds don’t diminish due to multiple devices when you use a switch (at least, they shouldn’t, unless your switch is garbage).Another thing I appreciate about this router is the support for OpenVPN. This means, if I want a whole house VPN connection, I just configure it on the router and we are good to go – no need to configure every individual device. This is especially useful if you are using a dedicated VPN IP (as opposed to the default shared ones) so that your IP isn’t flagged by numerous services that know the standard VPN IP addresses.Overall, this isn’t a bad step up from an old, outdated router. Keep in mind, once your router is no longer supported by the manufacturer, it’s time for a new one.

Another Great Product from GL.iNetI’ll start this by saying that I’ve had great experiences with every GL.iNet product that I’ve ordered. This was no exception.I live in a rural area, with no traditional internet, so I use cellular-based internet. It never really gets faster than 350Mbps on a good day, so I don’t need the fastest WiFi 6 speeds. This is perfectly fine for me.The router itself is pretty nice, with permanently attached antennas, and it’s a nice, compact size. The main selling point is the features, many of which aren’t available in most home routers, and especially not at this price point. The pre-installed adblocker works extremely well. Say goodbye to most of the annoying ads.The Wireguard VPN client also works very well. I don’t use it all of the time, but it’s nice to be able to click a button and change my location for streaming from different areas. It’s also very nice to be able to just plug in a phone or a USB cellular modem in and tether data. This is great for those times when your regular internet goes down and you need a backup, or if you want to load balance multiple connections at once. The web interface is very easy to navigate and is very intuitive. You really can’t get a more versatile router at this price. I can recommend this without any reservations.

Good midrange router that works with SpectrumI had an old router that was on it’s last leg and I wanted to upgrade to a wifi 6 router since that’s the next big thing is routers. I didn’t want to spend too much but didn’t want something that couldn’t handle what I needed it to handle. I searched and found this little guy for a reasonable price. Setup and instructions were easy enough, but I was very disappointed that it didn’t have a companion app. This meant I had to set everything up in the GUI page and then had to go back in if I wanted to change anything. That’s not that big a deal if you’re just a plug and play person. Once I had all my devices connected (approx. 21) it seemed to handle the load just fine. It has a decent range that seems to cover all parts of my apartment just fine. Overall, I think it’s a good buy for someone who just wants a good plug n play router. I will most likely find something else in hopes of a companion app to make customization easier.

Runs on old variant of Openwrt firmware. Hope they address it soon.I love GL.iNet. All of their routers can run on either their own openwrt with added custom UI and ease-of-use packages or you can install their provided barebones openwrt. You can even download and install the firmware directly from Openwrt.org if available. With that said, the GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router is a disappointing product. In the last year, Openwrt has made setting up a mesh network of routers using 802.11r and 802.11s but only if you’re running version 19.07 or higher. I wanted this router in the hopes that I can upgrade to WIFI 6 for my custom mesh network but I was sad to find that the variant of the firmware is based off version 15.While gl.iNet has backported all of the necessary security patches from the newer kernels, it won’t help the many power users who have come to depend on the new Openwrt version.Due to this, I didn’t give this a thorough test to figure out its stability and wifi speed as both of these can be affected when/if the company finally updates the firmware to a more recent version. Meanwhile, this router will sit in my closet waiting for its day to shine.

Will be an unusual setup for some peopleI was trying to decide between 3 and 4 stars so I will settle on saying it is 3.5 due to some unusual problems I ran into. The package comes with the Flint router, the power supply, a network cable, very basic setup/use sheet, and a card with the the QR code to download the app. I mainly wanted to try this out for the AdGuard home, WireGuard VPN, and IPv6, but it also has a USB 3 port for NAS which is Great and easy to setup! If you are restricted on space, this router has slots molded into the back so you can wall mount it if you need or want to. Ok, with that out of the way let’s get to the problems I ran into. I have setup a lot routers in my time. Most have been simple plug and play and then easily make any customizations you want, but there have been a few that were a pain in the butt due to poor GUI. This Flint falls somewhere in the middle depending on your skill level since it has a Lot of options you can install. Having setup routers before, I didn’t go to the app first, instead I plugged it in and connected my computer with the included network cable like you would any other router because you have to setup your basic wired connection before you can setup WiFi on any router I’ve delt with before. Initial basic setup was simple and straight forward so no problems there. I guess it depends on the VPN you subscribe to as to how easy it may be to setup. This was where I ran into my first problem. I use PIA which is supported, but is not on the Open or WireGuard client or server list in the router interface. I spent a couple of hours trying to find the settings to enter them manually. I couldn’t find them so moved on to other customizations. AdGuard was easy to turn on with the toggle and you can go to the AdGuard home page to make further customizations such as blocking specific sites or services (i.e. FakeBook, Twerker, Insta, eBay, etc… Big list to choose from) and to turn parental controls on/off. Happy with that to this point, but give me a minute. I finally decided to download the app. THAT is the key to setting up a VPN not listed by default in the router GUI. Once the app was installed I had PIA WireGuard running in less than 3 minutes and there is a toggle to connect or disconnect from VPN. SpeedTest showed I was getting max (actually over what I pay for from Xfinity) without the VPN and just over what I should get with it on; GREAT speeds!! Well a couple of days later I noticed some sites not loading and SpeedTest showing much slower speeds and some site wouldn’t load anymore. I rebooted the router and everything was good for another day or two but then slowed down again. I rebooted and turned AdGuard off to be sure it wasn’t breaking sites since add blockers can do that even though if that were the problem it shouldn’t come and go. A couple of days later and speeds stayed up where they should be. I go to turn AdGuard back on to double check/test and cannot. Instead of turning on it gave an error message. Rebooted and tried again; no change. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling AdGuard. Well that did not help. Still could not get it to turn on. Message stating DNS settings changed, but I made no changes so didn’t know what it was referring to so I could check and fix it. I ended up factory defaulting the router and setting it up again (much faster this time since I knew the quirk with the VPN). Everything seemed fine for a couple of days until I noticed I couldn’t connect to our HDHomeRun box with my tablet, phone, or computer. Reset the HDHR box; no change. Turned WiFi off and back on in my devices; no change. Reset the router and my tablet and phone connected, but not the computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled the HDHR apps; no change. The next morning I couldn’t connect again so reset the router and it worked except the on the computer still. That evening it stopped connecting again. Even though it should have nothing to do with I was about to turn off AdGuard to be sure that wasn’t causing a problem even though I knew I may have to factory reset the router and set it up again (only about 5 minutes now that I know the quirks but still shouldn’t have to do that), that’s when I thought to turn IPv6 off. THAT was the problem. I don’t know why it worked at first and then stopped, but HDHR has been connecting fine to everything including the computer since turning IPv6 off. IPv6 is faster, but SpeedTest showing speeds right at what I am paying for from Xfinity even through the WireGuard VPN so no real loss there. The router this one replaced had beam forming so it had slightly better overall coverage, but it didn’t support USB3 NAS, AdGuard, or VPN (or IPv6 which I may turn back on and move the HDHR to the Xfinity modem/router). It has been working without a problem the last several days so finally thought it was time to write a review.Quick recap; having problems connecting your VPN? Use the phone/tablet app to set it up or change the server location. Having problems with pages breaking or not loading? Check your AdGuard home settings. Having problems connecting with other devices? Check IPv6. If other problems pop up I will post an update. All in all, I would recommend this router for all the Great options at this price point, but would at the same time advise there are a few quirks you may have to work through before it is “stable” in your particular situation. If you don’t plan to use AdGuard, VPN, or IPv6 it would be a Very simple set up for just a basic no frills turned on router at the same range you would pay for one that didn’t have the options to begin with and you can always turn them on later in this one if you want to try them.

Great at running multiple devicesI wrote an extensive review with detailed benchmarks versus a competing router, and Amazon would not publish the review, but without giving a reason. So I am submitting this lousy watered down version. Bottom line, this router supports 60 devices without a hiccup and offers a double in speed over my older router.

The best option for OpenVPN and WiFi 6OpenVPN with its support for adguard home and it’s VPN clients is amazing. Overall I found this router had very good speeds achieving file transfer speeds of 80MB/sec on my home network which is just about 10% off gigabit wired speeds. Comparatively the AC gi.net router hits about 60. Overall this is a great device.

Definitely not user friendlyThe first thing I noticed when removing the GL.iNet GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router and going through everything in the box was the lack of any set-up instructions whatsoever. You do get a ‘Let’s Get Started’ card and normally when you see that in a box it’s the place to find basic set-up instructions but on the other side of the card is nothing but a bar-code to download the GL.iNet app from the Google Play or Apple App Stores.Logically the app should walk you through the set-up process for the router but if you look closely on that card above the bar code it says that the app provides instructions to set up WiFi which is jumping the gun since you actually need to set up the router to work with internet access on your computer first. The Android app takes you through the cord connection and power up process but then wants to connect to the router via WiFi which it couldn’t do until I set up the router first on my computer. To do that you need to go to the IP address 192.168.8.1 (most routers use 192.168.1.1) in an internet browser which takes you to the page for setting up and changing settings in the router. That IP address can be found on a sticker under the router but not on any paper set-up instructions or in the Android app’s set-up screens so if you’re looking for a router that offers an easy set-up process the GL.iNet GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router definitely isn’t it.I have set up more than two dozen routers from various brands throughout the years so I was able to go through the set-up process on this router without any problems–or so I thought. My internet network was set up. My WiFi network was set up. I had connected my ethernet devices to the router and the home page showed that the router recognized my devices. So far so good until I actually started to use my internet. One of the devices connected via ethernet cable is my Nvidia Shield streaming box. But when I used a speed test app on the Nvidia Shield my download speed went from being fast enough to stream 8K content when connected to my 5-year-old router to barely fast enough to stream any HD content at all with the GL.iNet. I have the official version of Kodi from the Google Play Store with nothing installed but add-ons from the official Kodi Repository and on my Nvidia Shield Kodi had no internet access at all.I did over three hours of troubleshooting to try and figure out why this router was throttling my download speed. I was able to give Kodi internet access by manually opening up a port but that was never previously necessary with any other router that I’ve ever owned. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get anywhere near my proper full download speed and eventually gave up. Everything worked perfectly and my download speed returned to normal after I hooked up my old router.I had better success when I went back two days later to try and hook up this router again. I was able to get my streaming devices and some of my WiFi devices working properly with my proper download speeds but I could not get either of my printers to connect. I have a wireless Canon Laser Printer and Wireless HP Photo Printer and I couldn’t get either to work with the WiFi on this router. This router is not designed for the casual user–there are over 400 downloadable plug-ins that can be used to add various functions. There are some nice features like integrated VPN and ad blocker services. But since I was never able to get either of my wireless printers to work I went back to my old router.I definitely wouldn’t recommend the GL.iNet Flint router unless you have computer-engineer-level knowledge and will actually find some of the deep-dive features offered by the 400+ downloadable plug-ins useful. I just needed basic router functions for streaming and WiFi and this router couldn’t provide that.

No instructions.Let’s get one thing out there real quick: for almost a decade I was a line repairer/installation tech. I installed internet phone and tv for a living. If asked, I’d help set up customer provided equipment (or CPE; aka routers, printers, tablets, fax machines etc.) even though that went outside the scope of the install or repair. The point of mentioning this is I’ve worked with countless… COUNTLESS TYPES OF EQUIPMENT involving internet, tv and phone; anything and everything one can imagine and I am still confident in being of assistance installing and setting up these types of things.THAT BEING SAID: this came with NO instructions other than to download an APP. So I download the app. ((Which.. the crazy thing is… I don’t care what it is.. typically, you plug a router/modem in and BAM- as long as everything is/ has been good- ya should be good to go as far as connecting LAN/WiFi.)) but that was not the case w this router. App is downloaded, I’m following instructions. I create an account because one was not created/existed. I’m following instructions to a t. And yes- my mother in laws modem was properly working (COMCAST, don’t know if provider matters..). To save my life, I could not get this thing to work. I eventually got to the part where you name the network and create its password; connected; no internet access. It says something about a cloud network!!?!?! No. This was absolutely ridiculous.Typically instructions really aren’t needed. You plug. You power. You wait. You access. It’s that simple. 10/10 times the original provided network name and password (a random assortment of letters and numbers) are on the sticker on the router. Not this one. Nope! So- for being as ridiculously complicated ((listen… this was for me… maybe this isn’t intended to be used in the US?? I’m not sure?!)) – you’d presume instructions would be included. Nope. I was beyond frustrated and literally didn’t have time to call support services number given to help set up. So now my MIL remains without WiFi again… because the prev TP-LINK (which I bought and set up in the snap of a finger- accessed IP and changed name and password seamlessly..) got fried…. and she doesn’t understand, in her age, that her devices have data/internet access etc. without having WiFi. I ordered this to help and set it up and connect her devices and I spent over an hour (I allotted myself 20 mins tops to set up and connect devices because that’s all it should take. Max. Especially with the existing internet provider established in home already…) NOPE! Big nope! Didn’t work out. I was late for my plane back home-…. Andddd rather infuriated as well!

Great for our small apartmentWe just moved into a new apartment and needed a new router specifically one that would meet all the needs of our family working from home and distance learning often. So we picked this one up specifically because of the four antennas so we could have multiple people working at the same time. We don’t do any gaming but we do a lot of streaming, video calls, things like that and this is a great solution for us. Easy setup and it’s not huge either so that’s a plus.

Ok access point. Dissapointing wifi signal strengthPros:Cost for a WIFFI 6 router. This one is on the bottom end of the range.SturdyThe administrative webpage interface was very easy for me to use and very intuitive. It is the best one I have used so far.Built in VPN.Built in security featuresCons:Signal level drops off quickly in my house and with that drop off the data through put dropped also. Sitting within 5 feet of the router I was able to get throughput of ~650 Mbps up for upload and download. When I expanded the distance to 20 ft (and two standard walls) the throughput dropped to ~150Mbps up and down When I compare these results to some of the previous generation routers I have used, the drop off is more severe.Summary: I will probably use this as an access point of my existing edge router.

I have questionsWhen I first installed this device, I noticed improved speed on my WiFi. However, as time went on I began to experience a lot of slowdowns when visiting websites; particularly those with delayed loading (like Twitter with attached images or websites with ads). It seemed as if any secondary downloads were very slow to complete.I am an IT professional, and my suspicious mind conjured up a scenario where the device might be collecting all the data from my browsing and transmitting it to a remote location. I have no proof that was happening; but my problems appeared when the router was installed; and completely went away when I disconnected it and replaced it with a Netgear. For now, it stays in the box. Your mileage may vary.

Unable to make workI’m a tech guy and deal with IT all day long. After installing this GL-AX1800 I had an issue getting it to work with my Pi Hole. I put enough time and effort into it that I just reverted to my original router. This router includes ad block features that would likely work well for some but I’m used to using the Pi Hole. I also wasn’t able to get OpenVPN working but I didn’t put enough time into it. As a comparison, the simple and cheap TP-Link router I put in place works flawlessly and took less than 15 minutes to setup.

Buggy, after the latest update it may get brickedafter some excessive testing and playing around with this router, I love it, sometimes it had a few bugs where you could get a page with “empty response”, but other than that hardware wise its great value, I got with wireguard around 200 mb/s on wifi, thru meraki firewall filtration. In addition to all that after a firmware update, the router has a potential but currently it is a piece of garbage! After updating itself to firmware version 3.207, it constantly bricks itself on its own on random basis. There are numerous bugs which are random and hard to explain, one example i mentioned above. I will wait for new firmware releases hopefully will make it to behave like a normal router. It is not real OpenWrt router. The kernel is based on the deprecated OpenWrt version 15 which is the only supposed by the Qualcomm chipset’s SDK. There is no chance to upgrade to an up-to-day software. Overall, shouldn’t be considered as first option imo.

Simply terribleThe setup is terrible. The app is terrible. The stability of the connection is terrible.Did I mention this router is terrible?I set up routers with unusual frequency for someone that doesn’t do this for a living so I pretty much know what I’m doing when it comes to setting up a router. This particular router is awful. The app has a difficult time finding the router in order to set it up, the instructions are nearly non-existent for trouble shooting, and if you do manage to get it setup… the stability is terrible. It took me and three onsite cable guys to get this thing to eventually work and within two hours it crashed and I had to start over. Or I would have, except I was smart enough to have a spare router on hand that cost 1/4 the price of this one that worked like a charm. In fact, the cheap router is still working and this piece of junk is sitting in it’s box while I decide what to do with it.Simply terrible.

good VPN support out of box, outdated softwareThe setup is not the most straightforward. They tell you download an app to set it up but there two apps with the same name and the first one doesn’t work. The openwrt software is really outdated but hopefully they can fix that in the near future. My main purpose was to use it as a wireguard VPN client router and it’s pretty good at doing that. I was getting the max speed. My internet speed is only 400/400Mbps and I was getting almost close to it.

Great and affordableThe only option available in the US that doesn’t cost a lot. Equivalent routers are marketed for $300 or more – this router does exactly what it is supposed to do – creates a VPN network (you need a subscription. To a VPN provider) and generates a Wi-Fi signal for your home. Set up was extremely easy, I download the configuration file from my VPN provider (Windscribe) and I have now a VPN up and running. Absolutely great!!!! Would recommend for sure!

Solid performance with advanced featuresI like this router a lot. My only reason for deducting a star is that the version of open wrt that they are using is severely outdated. Feature packed nonetheless, and easy to set up. The WiFi 6 is good and I run it with wireguard. Speeds of 300mbps advertised hold true. I wouldn’t really run this in any other mode personally, as it hinders its performance significantly. I really hope they update the firmware soon though, and I wish it had an on/off switch. Excellent device. Great app supportThis GLi router is top notch and offers excellent customization options via the GLi app. I use it mostly as a wireless bridge with a custom SSID and this device maintain really good stable speeds of 60-80 Mbps (about 50% of my main WiFi speeds) in such a setup. The GLi app is user friendly and helps to change channels, SSID, guest modes directly from the phone. I keep the SSID same for both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, so this lets my phone change bands automatically if I’m some distance away from the router.

Everything is easy to use and rock solid. Signal is extra strong and totally resilient to jerk wifi hogs and hackers, probably because its a Qualcomm chipset, a first for this company. OpenWrtOpenWrt doesn’t currently support the IPQ6000 processors.Glinet and several reviewers mention that the Flint router supports OpenWrt. Flint runs firmware built by the manufacturer that is *based on* an older version of OpenWrt (15.x). It does not run official OpenWrt software (current version 21.x). This can be confirmed by visiting OpenWrt.org.

Good wifi 6 router with openwrtNOTE: I preordered this product from the official gl-inet website before it was available on amazon. So far it’s a great wifi router in my testing. It’s definitely faster/more stable than my current wifi 6 router (a tp link AX3000). The UI is top tier as well with very little to no issues when loading the page. The setup was a bit confusing. It did not run an access point from the get go, and required the setup to be done via ethernet or their app iirc. Openwrt is a HUGE plus for me, lots of indepth information about what is going on in the under belly of the router and tons of control over the inner workings. The feature set is great, adblock, vpn, tor, etc. Very little other routers do this at a very reasonable price. Of course, it’s not as fast as other routers available on the market, but it is definitely one of the better ones available. After doing speed tests via iperf3650-700mbps over the air half duplexand 300mbps full duplexThis was to and from a wifi 5 device, I would imagine it’s significantly faster on a wifi 6 device.

Sometimes, Wifi connection drops while in VPNAm not sure if it is due to the device running in an older version of the Openwrt firmware, I see the Wifi connection dropping a lot while on VPN. Also, I see the OpenVPN connection is much slower than the Wireguard VPN.

Great ProductNot disappointed at all with my purchase, so far this router has performed great. The best part is that you can apply your own VPN configuration directly to the router and that was the selling point for me. Far more expensive so called VPN routers are still not using the latest VPN protocol “WireGuard”, but this one does and the speeds have been amazing. The unexpected major plus with my purchase I learned is that I could replace my Verizon Fios router and plug the ethernet cable directly into the router. I use this in tandem with my Eero’s setup and the speeds have been amazing all across the board.

Great WiFi 6 Router with Super Easy App SetupI was looking for an affordable WiFi 6 router that could cover my 2 story 1800 square foot home with about 3 smart Apple TVs, 6 iPhones, 3 iPads, 3 laptops and 12 smart home devices. The Gl.iNet Flint GL-AX1800 works great and was really easy to set up. I’ve used some of their older products that set up with a web portal like many other routers. The Flint works with their new mobile app that makes setup a breeze; I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. Our internet connection is 1 Gig fiber, and throughput to all of our devices exceeds 500-700 Mbps, which is more than enough to watch 4K video and stream our Nest Hello smart doorbell and many Wyze cameras to our Google Nest Hub and iPads. I really love Gl-iNet and am really happy with the new Flint WiFi 6 router.

Unbelievable Router!!!The router works very well and the price is reasonable. Very easy to set up, and the VPN speed is fast and stable. I can play geo-locked online games from other countries with smooth connection and speed.

Easy Setup, Solid SignalI had been looking for a decent router that had a good signal and half-decent security and this one delivers. I had this router up and running within 5 minutes and the signal is strong throughout the small apartment I’m in.It has a web interface to set up, so you have to know just a little bit about routers, but the instructions are pretty good. It also has a lot of software modules for advanced functionality. If you are an advanced user with a lot of your IP addresses used up, then pay careful attention to the default IP address for the router itself. You might have to connect directly with a Cat 5 cable. If you are not an advanced user but think you are, be very careful because there is enough rope here for you to shoot yourself in the foot.

Does what I needed it for.Needed a router with WISP protocol to function as a bridge between my Inseego M2000 and existing wired network. Wanted something with wifi6 for fastest connection. The only other I’d found was the new generation of MOFI routers and they are a bit pricy to just be used as a bridge.

Works WellSo far the signal strength is good, inside and out of the house. The setup was somewhat taxing as the app didn’t work for me. I went to GL.iNet, clicked on the model, then went to view online guide. It took multiple tries to get it right. For Your Info., FCC ID = SSID. This unit has a strong processor and it gets warm but not hot by any means. I’m certain this unit has a multitude of capabilities if you are tech savvy but, the instructions dont necessarily lend themselves to explanations for the layman. I bought this because the cost was reasonable in respect to what it offers and so many negative reviews of the familiar name brands. I would recommend this unit.

GL.iNet GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router ReviewSpeed: ⭐⭐⭐Privacy: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Security: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Availability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Pros:PrivacySecureReliableAvailabilitySleek DesignFeaturesCons:CostUnder development/Fairly newBugsSpecificationThe GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router has speeds up to 1.8 Gbps and equipped with 600Mbps (2.4GHz), 1200Mbps (5GHz). Also, WiFi 6 (802.11ax) performs much better, in all aspects, than its predecessors. The firmware is based on Qualcomm Software Development Kit (SDK) and has been modified using OpenWrt distribution with Linux Kernal 4.4.60 and uses WPA3 Encryption. The router also supports VPN (Virtual Private Network) and has speeds up to 500Mbps. It also supports AdGaurd Home which is a dedicated Internet filtering software for blocking ads and online trackers that’s been integrated within the Web User Interface (UI). In addition, it’s decked with 1.2 GHz Quad core CPU processor plus the extra separate 1.5GHz Network process unit (NPU) for network speed acceleration.SpeedIn this section, we’ve performed a speed test against the GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router. The Flint router claims up to 600Mbps (2.4GHz), 1200Mbps (5GHz). It’s worth to mention that there are other aspects throughout the home network which could potentially affect the results. For example, being connected over a wired connection would provide for better speeds compared to a wireless connection. During this test, a wireless connection was used (2.4GHz) and managed to achieve 50.8Mbps download speed -> 17.4 Mbps upload speed.SecurityThe GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router claims WiFi 6 (802.11ax) performs much better, in all aspects, than its predecessor WiFi 5 802.11ac WiFi standard. What’s the difference? WiFi 6 expands the WiFi band from 80 MHz to 160 MHz, doubling the channel width and creating a faster connection from the the router all the way down to the end users. Ultimately, it allows the end users to enjoy streaming 8k movies, large file downloads/uploads, and more responsive devices simultaneously without buffering. The GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router also claims WPA3 encryption which builds and improves on its predecessor WPA2.What’s the difference? WPA3 provides a more secure connection than WPA2. WPA2 uses AES standard encryption whereas, WPA3 uses 128-bit encryption within WPA3-Personal mode (192-bit in WPA3 Enterprise mode). WPA3 also replaces the Pre-Shared key (PSK) exchange used in WPA2 with Simultaneous Authentication of Equals which is more secure to do the initial key exchange.AvailabilityIn my own experience, The GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router has 24/7 availability. For example, since setting up and configuring the Flint router several months ago, the uptime has been good.Furthermore, I’m using NEMS to further monitor the uptime for the Flint router. Please refer to the image below for our current uptime:AdGaurd HomeAdGaurd home comes preinstalled with the GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router. AdGaurd Home is a network software for blocking ads & tracking which covers all end devices connected to the home network, and no need for client side software. In my own experience, AdGaurd home is essential, as it’s protected all home users from unwanted ads/tracking. For example, We’ve enabled several different DNS blocklists such as AdGuard Simplified Domain Names filter, WindowsSpyBlocker – Hosts spy rules, and much more. The blocklist includes a text file with lots of different websites which have been denoted as malicious or unwanted traffic.Furthermore, I’ve personally used AdGaurd home for experimental purposes. For example, I’ve used AdGaurd Home Custom filtering rules to block the website “cheese.com”.We’re able to view DNS records for monitoring purposes from an InfoSec/Networking perspective. For example, Google Analytics was refusing to connect because of AdGaurd Home DNS prevention. It required manual approval by going into AdGaurd Home and clicking enable on the correct DNS record, which can be useful.VPNThe GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router offers a variety of features, services, and plugins. For example, it implements different VPN’s such as WireGaurd, OpenVPN and TOR.The TOR feature turns the Flint router into an “Onion Router”. With the TOR feature enabled, it means the end users connecting to the network has full anonymity, since their data network traffic is being guided through different servers, located all over the world. With TOR enabled in my own experience, it has automatically provided all end users connected to the home network with individual ghost IP addresses. For example, when headed to Amazon’s website, it redirects us to the USA template and not the UK, since were located in the USA according to the VPN.This provides for further security & anonymity for all end users connecting to the home network. Although, the overall network traffic speed will be decreased when VPN is enabled. However, it could be said that WireGaurd or OpenVPN could provide better speeds.ConclusionOverall, The GL-AX1800(Flint) WiFi 6 Router could be best described as the “all in one” package. It ensures security, privacy, redundancy, and speed throughout the different layers of our home network.Furthermore, we’ve learned the different features the Flint router is able to implement such as TOR, AdGaurd Home, and more. In addition, there’s also plugins available to download and install them onto router for extra capabilities. However, I believe the traffic speed lets the router down. For example, it had claimed to be up to 600Mbps (2.4GHz), 1200Mbps (5GHz), and we’re able to achieve merely 50.8Mbps download speed -> 17.4 Mbps upload speed on a 2.4GHz frequency. With that said, it is intended to increase the network traffic speed using different implementations in the future. In my own experience, the router upheld its part of the bargain and ensuring all users is able to connect from our home network, to the internal servers, and Internet whilst being private, secure and high speed.

VPN ReadyI got this to be able to use with my VPN account and it works fine with it.It has an user interface which gives all options to import your VPN automatically or you can do it manually. It makes very easy to install and configure VPN. Signal strength is very good, covers all the house.Only issues/comments, VPN configuration is not possible per client and all devices have to use the internet with VPN or not. And somehow my iptv makes issues with the WiFi but works fine if I connect with the cable

Good for basic internet/wifi and has adguard homeI purchased this to setup for a family member that had an old dlink wifi router. The added range and signal strength of this unit over the old wifi AC router is noticeable. I wanted to setup something with adguard home for them, and this was the cheapest total option. I ended up using the beta gl.inet 4.2 firmware as 4.1 final has some wifi 5ghz issues. I could not find a vanilla 3rs party openwrt imageWhich is annoying. So far so good. It lacks 160mhz on the 5ghz wifi, only doing 80mhz. Good enough for most users. It has 512mb ram, which is limiting as 128mb of same is used by the os. Still, enough for adguard home. You will not be running adguard home, wireguard/openvpn, TOR, etc all at the same time on this box as it is ram and software limited. For wifi and one of the said options, in my case adguard home, it is perfect. If gl.inet would release a version with 2.5gbe ethernet and wan, more ram, a better openwrt image, and a faster cpu – at a reasonable price, they would have a hell of a product. If you need more than the said basic functionality, you need to go with a pc running pfsense or opnsense. At that point, buy a wifi 6/6e router with 160mhz to use as an access point. If you want basic functionality all in one unit, this is for you.

Unbelievable Value For Money – >>Updated<<UPDATE: After 4 weeks use I’ve downgraded my Rating to 3 Stars. It’s still good value-for-money but I hit a few current unresolved issues with a) IP6 over BT Internet and b) being able to access the Internet via WireGuard VPN back to this router. GL-iNet’s Support has been great, it just looks like the Firmware is a bit immature. Have now Returned this device (if you need a ‘basic’ router, their SF1200 for £30’ish is a steal – even as an Extender). This is a brilliant small footprint, unobtrusive, cheap router – >>note: you do need a separate modem

Good option RouterHave buy this wifi 6 router only because was one from not many working well with VPN servers and can manage connections with device can connect via VPN and with VIA normal connection. Give only 3 stars because its not work with my VPN providers as is Seed4me, its work with many US VPN provider and main settings is with Nord VPN, of corse you have option for manual adding some providers but that depend what protocol they use to connection.

Do Not Buy ThisI have bought many GL-inet products. Thay have all in the past been excellent. THIS IS NOT.Im not sure why this was released. Firstly, it runs Super if not white, burn your house down in the right circumstances HOT. Fry an egg on it hot. Smelling like the components are burning up on the inside hot.Second. It does not work. It does not do what it is supposed to do. It is not ‘fit for purpose’.Buy it, and contact customer service, and they will send you beta firmware that makes it work ‘better’.Still not happy with your burning hot unreliable router….Customer service will suggest to you that you send it back via ‘the cheapest possible route’. For a replacement that they do not acknowledge will be improved, a different hardware version, or in ANY way something better than what you paid top dollar for.And while you are waiting for the replacement apparently GL-inet are fine that you will have no router. NOIf you put a product into the market That is flawed. Is white hot and can burn your house down. You don’ t get to say download this beta firmware. Send it back and have no internet while we fix it. NOJust say NO

Buen trasto!

Easy Setup, Good SignalBought this to replace telco router, a friend suggested GLiNet due to their open-soutce nature. It was inexpensive and offered features seen in exxier routers. Setup was very easy and signal was a lot stronger than previous one, even though it’s tucked in the back of tv unit. The unit is quite small, even with antennas. The UI is very good and easy to use. Would recommend.

Had some issues on initial setup but then it worked so well it exceeded my expectations!!Initially I messed up the settings because I accidentally turned off the wifi without having a way to connect (newbie mistake, though the UI for this could be improved a bit to warn the user that you won’t be able to reach the device without a direct cable). But after that I love the ability to easily assign custom internal domain names, create a vpn, select a different subnet for guests, and provide wan through both a modem and tether!!

Keine Ahnung was damit gemeint ist. Bekommt zurecht 4 Sterne.

Good router, with big potential!A Good router finally, I have spent a lot of time/money for other routers, and I would say this one is a good solution for money! For the value it makes much more, then you can await. Using it since 4 days, did not notice major problems in normal operations. What I miss is several VPN clients running simultaneously and vpn policy between them. Currently is it only one available, but WireGuard is a very good option here! If you try to find something better with the same options in OpenWRT Router world it is quite hard. To be completely flexible better to split then WIFI AP and routing (using a small fanless PC or the old one). Then you have more flexibility. So for the not very complex solution and customizing this is more than OK.

Good Features, But Didn’t Work ProperlyThis product seemed okay, but then after getting several more 2.4ghz devices for whole house audio, the router just couldn’t keep up and didn’t work properly. Even after extensive troubleshooting and upgrading the firmware, I ended up going back to my old router, which worked perfectly (just lacking the VPN/Adblocking). Pretty disappointed and got a refund.

Fantastic Performance with Server Grade Customisable Open Source Router SoftwareMy use case scenario: the ISP (Virgin) provided router is in bridge mode, whilst this router routes the traffic to all the devices in the house (about 20 or so devices).Likes:- Based on OpenWRT router software. This is an open source platform that allows you to enable features that are normally reserved for server grade routers. DNS over HTTPS , smart queue management to mention but a very small sample of the features that can be used.- Powerful CPU and NPU that enables gigabit Ethernet transfer speeds even when smart queue management is enabled.- Great Wi-Fi coverage and speed. I get an average of 667MB/s download speed on my iPhone when connected to the Wi-Fi and the signal is great throughout our home.- User interface makes it easy for most people to set the device up.- Small- Silent (some reviewers have mentioned that their units make a high pitched sound.)Dislikes:Short power lead. I would have preferred at least a 1.5m cable.A fantastic router at the price I brought it for. (£80)

I will learn to start trusting my instinctsWell, I did have a GL iNet S1300 router at home, however the wifi couldnt quite cover the whole house, so I went out and brought a TP link AX3000, it worked great for a few days, and although the wifi covered the whole house, I soon noticed that the 2.4ghz had dropped to next to nothing, the 5ghz was working perfectly, my partner on her iphone 12 Pro was getting only 4-6mbps on the 2.4ghz and I was getting approx 50mbps on my Samsung S21 Ultra, so I thought id try the new GL iNet AX1800, wow is all I can say, such easy setup, took me about 3 mins to setup on my PC which is hard wired to the router, theres barely anything to do, 5ghz wifi is giving us the full connection to our phones of 380mbps, and 2.4ghz is giving us 110mbps, i’ll never buy another TP link device, GL iNet beats them by a mile.

Down 77 / Up 35 Mbits.

5 stelle

GL-AX-1800 V3 Firmware is not mature! The product was delivered within a few days. Packaging and presentation were first class!Unfortunately, the latest V3 firmware release is not very stable. The GUI and the system are missing basic features such as WPS and the ability to specify a VLAN number to suit your ISP’s PPPoE standards. After a period of time, the 5GHz WiFi was not available either. Rebooting the router did not fix this issue. Only a complete factory reset fixed this issue however; you loose all your work specifying VLAN numbers and have to start all over again. Also, the WireGuard server is not stable either. Very frustrating as the reason fur purchasing this router was its inbuilt VPN server capability. You need to be proficient in manipulating Linux files using SSH. This router is not “Plug and Play” and I would not recommend buying one if you are not literate in IT or do not have the skill set to manipulate the firmware at a line based level.Caveat Emptor! (Let the buyer beware)

Good product if you need a plug and play solutionWorks fine and it has a good coverage. The only problem, quite a big one for advanced users is that its runs a deprecated fork of OpenWRT.Additionally, there is no official support for OpenWRT besides GL Inet’s fork.Hopefully OpenWRT support is coming. Easy to install and configure. The inbuilt wifi-6 is fast and signal strength throughout my home is top notch.I literally have nothing but praise for this router and it’s staggeringly well priced for what you get.

A refreshing changeI was pleasantly surprised to see a GitHub repo with code and an imagebuilder open and online. I was able to setup my SSH key and SSH onto the router, add scripts, change config, install packages, etc, feels like a different world compared to the usual suspects. I hope support continues and that OpenWrt is updated.

Slow WiFi speedsI bought the router in order to get a more capable device for Wi-Fi connection. Even though I have little Wi-Fi 6 devices, performance on lower standards shouldn’t be much less than whatever their limit is. Especially when comparing the Flint to existing hardware, which is older. In the attached screenshot you can see my measurements using the tool I proof, which measures the connection speed between two Macs over Wi-Fi. I must say that both devices do not support Wi-Fi 6.If you plan to get this device as some kind of precursor for a later update, you may expect results as seen on the screenshot. The important scenario to me is when the router is acting as an extender for an existing Wi-Fi, in order to cover more space. Using a 250 Mbit internet connection, the throughput is also in the range of 150 Mbits only. The Flint does connect through Wi-Fi to the actual router of the Internet provider and then provides Wi-Fi to a list of clients. While the distance from the Flint to the router is only about 6 to 8 m, with a wall in between, the speed is reduces severely. It is 100Mbit less than what it should be. The speed drop is actually worse than just keeping the router from the internet provider.I do want to emphasize that the screenshot does not involve testing the Internet speed at all, it purely measures the potential with the actual speed between two devices through the Wi-Fi of the Flint. This result is a huge letdown. There are devices that cost less money and provide a better throughput.

Besitzt nicht die WLAN Kanäle für EuropaI bought the GL-AX1800 /Flint router and my problem is that, according to the 5 GHz WLAN channels shown in the Web interface of this router, there is only a choice between the following 5 GHz WLAN channels: 36 to 48 and 149 to 161where 149 to 161 are not allowed for WLAN use in Europe. Thus, I am missing these European 5 GHz channels 54 to 64 and 100 to 140which together with the channels 36 to 48 are only allowed for 5 GHz WLAN in Europe. Also in the 2.4 GHz band, there are only the channels 1 to 11 available, but the additional European channels 12 and 13 which are also allowed in Europe are missing. Thus I am afraid that I received a “non European version” of this router.

Its not the best router, suggest trying another one. Poor internet speed on some devicesIts pretty bad with VPN dont really get good speeds that they advertise on item with wireguard protocol, using various different vpn provider.Adguard home is decent, but IT DOESN’T BLOCK MOST annoying Ads like YOUTUBE, FACEBOOK. Ads, (so what’s the use of it, other than blocking certain domains like via the hosts file)Its ofcourse got no 4g/5g support so i have to connect it to a seperatly bought out 5g modem, and with high security settings on modem, the GL inet stops working. And also not to forget no mesh and any other AI support etc like on ASUS routers which are way way better and not that much more expensive than this unit. And on some devices the internet speed is terrible (may be router has maximum no. Of Devices that i wasn’t told about, and those devices above maximum number keep having extremely poor internet speeds)

Returned it– I couldn’t do the setup via the smartphone, had to find a computer with a lan port.- When using this router, all my smart devices had some kind issue.- When having a video call on my phone or tablet, would lag then crash`!?- Power cord is a bit too short for my liking.- Device was very hot.I needed a new router and was very excited about it being OpenWRT and Wifi 6.I had too many issues and had to return it. I don’t know if its software or hardware, but I need a router that works out of the box.

Fritzbox)Mein System : GF Dslite ->Fritzbox -Kabel> Gl.int Flint (Wireguard) -Wifi,Kabel> PC,Handy…erreichte Wireguard Geschwindigkeit 100% (300+Mbits)

Not a true WRT router.Definitely not an Asus. Cheap feeling and clumsy software.

No recomendable.

Early issues are now resolvedI had some issues early on, but it seems like they’ve fixed the firmware now and it’s been flawless for over a year. Would but again

Unreliable Security Risk outdated firmwareSecurity Risks , outdated openwrt firmware DO NOT RECOMMEND.WIFI 6 is average.Too many bugs these GL.INET jokers are making new routers every month and their developers are asleep and don’t fix things or release stable firmware. GL.INET operation is release an inferior product to market and work on firmware after they sell 100 units.Returned for Refund
