Great for Home networks UnifiI recently purchased this 10 Gb SFP for my home network, and I’m extremely pleased with its performance. It works flawlessly with my Ubiquiti switches, which was a relief as I had concerns about compatibility. The SFP was easy to install and has exceeded my expectations. It provides fast and reliable data transfer at 10 Gb speeds, which is essential for my home network needs. I have been able to transfer large files and stream high-quality video with no issues. In addition to its outstanding performance, the SFP was also very inexpensive, making it an excellent value for the price. I was able to purchase several units without breaking the bank, which is a huge advantage for my budget.Overall, I would highly recommend this 10 Gb SFP to anyone who needs fast and reliable data transfer for their home network. It works flawlessly with my Ubiquiti switches and provides excellent value for the price. I give it a solid five stars!

SpeedyOverall disconnect works really really well. Provides fast Tanguay connections to an SPF plus port on your router. I will say once it’s connected. Good luck trying to remove it because they are connected very very well. I think long-term I would have gotten a direct SPF plus cable and saved the money but the fact that this converts to an RJ-45, which is far more compatible with most networking gear is, a huge benefit and ultimately worth the money for most users.

Works fine. Gets *really* hot.As I was researching 10GbE switches and Ethernet adapters, I read several reviews that recommended 6COM transceivers. I decided to give them a try. I don’t own any transceivers from competing brands so I cannot offer a comparison, but I can confirm that they seem to offer consistent, trouble-free 10G performance. The one thing that I did not expect was the operating temperature of these devices. I use one with a QNAP Thunderbolt 3 to 10GbE adapter. The first time I picked up the QNAP adapter to put it into my backpack, my finger came to rest on this transceiver and I nearly dropped everything. It was HOT. I contacted 6COM, who responded promptly and confirmed that the normal operating temperature of the transceiver is 158F!Before you write off 6COM, understand that this is normal. 10G devices designed for use with copper ethernet cables (as opposed to fiber) run hot. I just hadn’t realized how hot. And I had assumed this was due to the Aquantia (now Marvell) chipset used in most 10GbE adapters. It turns out that heat generation is just inherent with copper-based 10G devices. The bottom line is that I do recommend this 6COM device for anyone looking for a 10G transceiver to use with standard CAT6 or 6a copper cables. Just be aware of its operating temperature so you don’t end up getting burned…literally.

Works in my Ubiquiti Unifi Aggregation SwitchThis works with no problems. I am a little surprised at the heat generated by this, but that’s to be expected with this type of transceiver.

It works! ( with mikrotik switch and macMini )Seems to work fine. Only got 5g link with existing wiring ( older cat 6 of about 60′ ), moved device closer and used ~25′ cat 6e and got 10g link.Only issue is that it gets HOT, like so hot you can barely touch it. So it’s burning some power somehow, will see how long it lasts, but after 60 days still going strong.

Plug-n-play, good fit.Worked perfectly, the fit was snug and secure. Note: body is metal but the securing clip/hinge is plastic. Not a big deal, still works just as well, just don’t manhandle it.

Superb SFP+ TransceiverThis is the only non-brand transceiver that works with every Cisco switch i have. By “the only” I mean out of ten or so randomly selected 4+ start rated transceivers sold on Amazon, which claim full Cisco compatibility. My oldest one of these is several years old, working in a switch powered 24x7x365, fault-free. Highly recommended.

10Gb, does run hot ~55C. But just works…It works like it’s supposed to. I wish it had built-in temp readings to be shown on the SwOS from Mikrotik, unless that’s a limitation on the Mikrotiks side.. Not sure.

Coded as DAC, won’t work on Aruba S2500/S3500These transceivers are coded as a DAC, instead of 10GBASE-T or 10GBASE-SR like some other transceivers. This means that if your switch is really picky with DACs (like my Aruba S2500/S3500), it’ll detect the transceivers but refuse to bring them up.Here’s the output of “show interface transceivers” from the Aruba S2500:GE0/1/1——-Vendor Name : 6COMVendor Serial Number : Vendor Part Number : 6C-SFP-10G-TAruba Certified : NOCable Type : unknownConnector Type : Copper PigtailWave Length : 256 nmCable Length : 1mIf you have the Aruba S2500/S3500, the Ipolex 10G-SFP-T-Ubiquiti works well as a 10GBASE-T SFP+ transceiver.

Drops connection with sustain speedsJust as another reviewer wrote, i get a lot of drop connections with this SFP. After some troubleshooting, it seems anything over 950mHz for more than 90sec will cause data loss and eventually just dropped connections. It did spike to 1.1gHz for 30sec, but then dropped down to 600-700mHz after and the connection was stable. It seems like only sustained higher speeds cause issues. I borrowed one from work to test with and that thing can rip 2ghz all day and not drop. Maybe just a few bad eggs got out?

Frequently drops connectionWhen it works, it works great. Frequently causes network connection to stall. Tested with other other 6com transceiver and one of a different brand. Both 6COM transceivers have the same issue. Also tried on QNAP and Mikrotik switch. Both 6COM transceivers had issues.Unfortunately, I just missed the return window on this while troubleshooting, so was an expensive live-and-learn experience. Wish return windows could be extended when troubleshooting requires purchasing of additional hardware and having to wait for that to arrive.

FlawlessItem was exactly as described and supports 10Gbps connection with no problems. Great value. Plugged into Microtik switch, other end of a 5′ ethernet Cat 6e cable is a Synology diskstation. Would buy again if/when I get more 10Gbps devices.

1GB or 10GB ONLY!I purchased this device to pair with my UniFi Switch Aggregation. This works perfectly for 1Gbps and 10Gbps connections! However, if you’re looking to do 2.5Gbps or 5Gbps connections it will not work.

Worked as advertised and solved a problemI needed to go from a Verizon NID to a Ubiquiti Gateway, purchased two of these and it resolved a connection issue that we (apparently) had with previous modules. Plug and play. worked great as a replacement.
