You can literally do anything you can imagine with your network with this little piece of equipment. Only keep in mind if youre using this as your main router the maximum speed possible is 100megs. So if your connection is higher speed then consider upgrading to a better model.

It comes with the RouterOS 4.0 level license. Yes, it has a steeper learning curve than the other home routers in the markets. But, it does try to offset that with the Web UI and Wizard setup.My setup is quite unusual so ordinary routers either fall short or I need to flash alternative firmwares to make the best out of them. This little router gives me the flexibility and reliability of the RouterOS. I use my office connection at home through a Radio setup beaming signal from my office building to my bedroom window (yeah, lucky me I live close to my office pro- eliminates commute time – cons been I am the first to call in an emergency).Our office closes at 4.30pm and after that, all the bandwidth just sits there. So I have distributed the bandwidth with a license exempt band to my home and our office guest house.Coming back to the router, I have setup it up in such a way that I can control the bandwidth during the day at my home for a minimum of 256kbps for an emergency while in the evening hours it bumps up 80% of the bandwidth for me and 20% for the guest house. I know, I could have done this from the office end as well as we are using Mikrotik there as well. However, I just like the control at the receiving end and this gives me the flexibility to configure a hotspot both on wifi- and wired network. I have setup priority for VOIP and Gaming devices.The wireless signal as most will enjoy has a decent coverage and I haven’t had the need to restart the router for any fluctuations in power as I do experience that with other routers at my location.Note: User manager will not work on this as the hAP lite does not support it, I guess its hardware limitation. But overall, it is a bang for the buck device and overall a little flexible powerhouse. To get the best of the device, do understand/learn the Mikrotik RouterOS configuration through WinBox.All the best. Hope this helps.

Awesome AP and great little stand alone deviceFor a sub $30 router this is pretty much a solid buy. Set up can be confusing, but quick settings are provided. If your really new and just need something going quick give those a try. I also recommend that you change your admin user login and its password to something else, Winbox makes this pretty much a snap. Also be sure to download both the new firmware and the updates to RouterOS when you get it, Firmware updates are available in System > Routerboard, and System > Packages for the OS updates. IPV6 is disabled by default, but you can enable the package there if you want it. You can customize the quick settings in Winbox as a download from their site, or from the web interface which it has a basic setup for from the default gateway address. The quick settings have a really good firewall setup and the rest of the stuff to get you started and there is a ton of customization you can do. I bought one to test it out as an access point using CAPSman, a wireless centralized AP manager. Overall this is great. Its a little 2.4G model, but they also have a dual band for not much more. It would work well stand along as a router, or along side other products and I think you’d be happy either way. The price is awesome for this little box, and the Level 4 license is plenty. I’ll be picking a couple more up and giving them out for some better routers than your at home fair.

Did exactly what I wantedWanted to connect several severs to my home network without running cat5 from downstairs to upstairs. Setup this up to connect wirelessly to my wi-fi down stairs in station bridge mode, plugged in my computers upstairs to the ethernet ports on the hAP lite and voila, internet access. RouterOS can have a bit of a learning curve but for the price point, quality and feature set you can’t beat it.

It works…but damn…getting it goingI don’t think I’ve ever had as much trouble getting a router/ap/wireless device connected in my life.To it’s credit…MikroTik puts basic directions on the box to get it setup “automatically”…but I didn’t get that lucky.Here’s how it goes…plug the internet cable into port 1…plug another cable into port 2 and then into your lan on your PC…plug the power cable in…start your pc up and give it a few minutes to auto config itself. Of course that wasn’t what happened in my case. It took a “manual” config attempt and 2 hours of my life i’ll never get back…Then I just reset the router back to factory state….went through the exact same auto config process and it worked. Just had to change the system login pw and the wireless security…wpa2..and the wifi pw…now it works fine.go to MikroTik and go through its wiki to change the aforementioned pw’s and set the encryption for the wifiAlso…be aware this only has 1.5db antenna strength..so this is not gonna reach the other side of your place at 5 bars. For that you’ll need the model up..I believe it’s the 951.Lastly, this is not a wireless router/AP for the non-techie. Be prepared to read the wikis with patience….there’s also a chance you might end up pullin your hair out.

Deliberately difficult to set up, but efficientI think they actually go out of their way to use nonstandard terms for things… they make it unnecessarily hard to set the channel (you have to look up frequencies instead of selecting a number, as usual) and it’s easy to screw things up (e.g. the frequency width settings, there’s apparently only one that works). Aside from the macho “We’re not going to make it easy for you sissies” attitude implied in the software, the hardware is quite good and I suspect this is the only inexpensive router whose operating system you can trust to any degree.UPDATE: I’ve dropped from four stars to two, because of the onslaught of severe security issues (you can look up Mikrotik router security flaws) and the lack of any easily accessed automatic update system. They even programmed in a back door for themselves, which other people found. Real smart. What is this, 1982?Normal routers let you check every day for security issues and correct them if needed. This thing has an overly complicated script-and-scheduler-based system, and if you look at the company’s own wiki, you’ll see that there’s a step it leaves out of the ”auto” update scheduled script — upgrading the boot loader.In short, unless you’re willing to devote some time every day to checking for and installing firmware upgrades, or trust everything to a fairly complicated and probably trouble-prone script + scheduler combination, you’re likely to find yourself vulnerable to exactly the same problems you’d have with a crappy but easy-to-use Netgear, Asus, or D-Link router. Sure, the box is neater and more efficient than those, but in the end, security is the #1 requirement for a router.UPDATE, July 2019: I now consider this router merely a waste of silicon and plastic. It has become impossible to upgrade to any new version of the OS. The gearheads at Mikrotik say, “Just do a NetInstall.” They do not say HOW to do this (you can search for it yourself), or that it will erase your entire painfully done configuration. Likewise, they do not say why they outfitted this router with practically no RAM or flash memory; why they made it impossible to upgrade; or why they can’t make a smaller version of the upgrade package, or make their dualling Windows-only online tools work to do the upgrade. In short, if you want to have a secure router, take your little Mikrotik box, bury it somewhere, and buy something that can be updated.UPDATE, September 2019: After a couple of months, Mikrotik came out with a smaller system update that fits, so now they can be upgraded. Some customer communication other than “wipe it out and start over until we get this right” would have been helpful. After all this, I think the best bet is DD-WRT on a conventional router.

Great router, very configurable, though takes some fiddling to configure the first time.Bought this little router to function as a WiFi bridge to replace a D-Link router flashed with DD-WRT that failed after a couple years.Extremely configurable – you can do just about anything with this little box, from providing basic WiFi access point functionality for your home, to advanced routing, VPNs and more.The only downside is that you can do just about anything with it – there are so many options that I would not necessarily recommend it for a non-techie type person.I only ran into one problem when trying to set it up as a WiFi bridge to connect a few hard-wired devices to my wireless network – I had to put the wifi interface into station-pseudobridge-clone mode to get it to work like DD-WRT as I was having it connect to a non-RouterOS access point. This was not obvious and took some reading to figure out.But I liked the hAP Lite so much overall that I ended up replacing my access point with a RB951G-2HnD which allowed me to put the hAP Lite wifi interface into station-bridge mode which gets things working as expected.BTW, the hAP Lite is very low power. You can power it with almost any 5V micro-USB power source. It only draws about 3 watts when powered up.

Replaced a $35 Pi with a $25 Mikrotik to perform the same job.Gotta say I’m a big Mikrotik fan. I have deployed dozens of them for work and home. I am currently dependant on my cell phone hotspot to provide internet to my home network which is composed of Cisco and Mikrotik devices. I was using a Raspberry Pi as a 802.11 Station and then NATing and routing traffic on the Pi for the rest of my network. That was a bit of a kludge and needed maintenance and upkeep, for example when I switch hotspot between phones or even different network Mifi device. So I ordered this to replace that Pi. $10 less and I get a feature rich, quality network device that integrates well with the rest of my network. I was able to set up very simple scripts that I simply click to run to switch between the various Hotspot devices that I regularly use.I would like to see more low end MIkrotik support 5Ghz band. That is my biggest complaint with this, but I could have spent a few more $$ to get a more powerful and dual band model.

Cheap and effecientNearly as small as a raspberry pi: Xbox360 for scale. This thing is tiny, fast , cool running, and low power requirements. The signal rate is very good and the speed is as good as my other access points. It’s also nice because Mikrotik has a mobile app for android that makes setting these up and monitoring them much easier.This little access point is very powerful and once you figure out how to manage it using the tool winbox , its rock solid and fast. The only caveat is it does not have a gigabit network port. You can use this device to do more than just act as an access point, but given the low memory and slower CPU I think it is best suited as a wireless access point. The Wireless AP portion of the device is very configurable and I would consider it on par with any enterprise offering, this supports LEAP/PEAP and had built in radius and can do WPA/2 Enterprise.

It’s the best performing router I’ve had and I’ve had much more …I’d give this more than five stars if I could. It’s the best performing router I’ve had and I’ve had much more expensive routers from D-Link, Linksys, Netgear and TP-Link. This was up and running in five minutes and I was instantly amazed at how fast the internet was. No more lag even without any fancy options configured. It just works and the Router OS is great and provides so much more information about traffic that the locally available big name brands. This will work easily if you just plug it in but custom configuring it will require some home work and an understating of networking is a must! I am an I.T. guy so this was easy to customize but non-I.T. customers should not expect to log into the unit and easily configure. Plug it in and use it….it’s great.

How is this only $22?This is not PhD friendly, “Push Here Dummy”.But if you have a good understanding of networking, know what MAC is and maybe played with Router software before, then this is an immensely useful piece of hardware. With some previous experience on DD-WRT, I found it easy to get adjusted to configuring this AP and using MikroTik config/software for the first time. Online user base / forum posts were helpful to quickly solve a small business need with this product.Pricing is fantastic, although hardware wise, 10/100 ethernet without 1000mb/s support was a little disappointing in this day & age.

Works Perfect!!!Got this about a month ago, and so far it’s been rock solid!! I have a dozen IP cameras, among a few dozen other devices and it hasn’t missed a beat yet. I was skeptical at the price but don’t let it fool you. This obviously requires a small amount of knowledge to set it up but if you have a basic understanding of networking you will be able to make this work for you. I have this paired with multiple Ubiquiti AP’s for amazing wifi throughout my house and business next door!

Great Product To Manage Home InternetI was hesistant at first to try Mikrotik. But I managed to learn the basics and applied it. To my surprise, it was working really well. Downloads, streaming, online gameplay and browsing at the same time did not affect the internet connectivity. We only have 15mbps internet and the bandwidth allocation is awesome. Looking forward to learn more about mikrotik and start my own WISP business.

ExcellentI had 2 Apple routers, one at my house and one at my parents’ house. Both seemed very laggy with my macbook pro and they seemed to go crazy when my iphone was using wifi calling. Constantly would drop calls and have signal issues and would need to be reset. Bought one of these to replace one and it is the most stable router I’ve come across, especially at such a cheap price. Ended up picking up a second one.

Great value – I love MikrotikI paired this with a Mikrotik wifi repeater (see picture) to distribute securely in my motorhome when we’re on the road. Great common configuration interface makes both devices easy to set up. My only complaint is that I had to do a factory reset once, but I’ll get over that.

Used a 493G for testing, and bought 10 more, all of which worked. I guess you get what you pay for. I’ll know to go a little more pricey next time, and get one of the higher end models.

JunkDoesn’t work for crap. I’ve had trouble with it since day 1. It somehow started to work once I was about to return it and now it isn’t working at all. I even paid for a higher level of tech support through my internet provider for the issues I was having and they couldn’t solve them either and had outdated or an incorrect manual for what they called an “obscure brand”. Also the port for the power cable is loose and the cable has to be taped to hold it into the router. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. It’s worth noting that their tech support has to be contacted by email and asks you to give them 3 days to respond so hopefully you win on your gamble! Unfortunately I did not.

BOOTP brokensubject says it all. The system hard crashed for what-ever reason and they have this micro-soft-esque implementation of BOOTP/PXE.It doesn’t work. I tried with their own tools, and it failed spectacularly …. then I tried manually with DHCP, etc and saw I COULD get it to work if I put in the effort but I have better stuff to do with a week of my time than setup a PXE server and work out the quirks for our bootloader.If I could give a lower score I would.

Not a reliable model.I write this review with a heavy heart, because I’ve seen other MirkoTik products work flawlessly. The company really dropped this ball on this model. It has failed after 3 months of moderate use by a few people in a 24/7 air conditioned room connected to a UPS. It comes up but clients can no longer connect to it. I’d suggest staying away from this model.

Do Not Buy This Model.This model of router is a terrible physical design… It has a counterpart with the exact same specs and internals, just it comes in a standard square box rather than this floppy thing that sits upon those stupid lil feet that causes the device to fall and tip over due to the weight of the cables plugged into it.. Search for the same model number, just drop the “TC” from the end. Same hardware, same cost.To the person who gave the item a bad review based on its “Intinonally Difficult” setup… Know this right off hand. MikroTik devices are not intended for the everyday consumer. These devices are designed with the needs of IT professionals in mind. The reason they are “difficult” to set up for someone who’s not used to using Mikrotik devices is that there is no way humanly possible to provide you with a simple little interface that’s easy for your brain to understand for the literal 10,000 different ways and uses you can configure MikroTik devices for. If you’re not a professional, you’re going to be helplessly lost. If you don’t consider yourself to networking professional, you’re best off buying some Linksys or Netgear home wifi router. But if you’re a professional, who encounter’s different situations and have to provide quick and innovative solutions to a huge array of possible different issues.. These little devices are an inexpensive and highly useful tool.

Can’t believe how good this is for the price. Would be perfect if it had 5ghz.I didn’t read closely and didn’t realize this only had 2ghz when I ordered it. But really it’s not been a big deal, it works just fine. This is the second Mikrotik I’ve had. I also didn’t feel it was difficult to set up (despite lots of other reviews to the contrary). Make sure to update router OS and you can do some googling to understand key settings. Overall it works well and cannot be best for the price.

El supuesto “menu” de quick setups es un drama, no lo useis porque tiende a bloquearse a si mismo (cambia la configuración en el puerto que estás usando para conectarte a él sin aviso).La nomenclatura y la interfaz es tan obtusa que es imposible entender como va sin ver antes unos video tutoriales en youtube o similar.Mi único objetivo era usarlo como enlace wifi para un servidor secundario al que no puedo hacer llegar un cable. Lo que serían 5 o 10 minutos con la mayoría de dispositivos se ha convertido en más de 2h revisando y entendiendo el funcionamiento interno del aparato.Si no tienes bastantes conocimientos de como funciona una red, probablemente este dispositivo no es para ti.

It runs RouterOS which gives you all the features of a high end router in terms of options, settings and configurations. Of course you don’t get gigabit routing speeds like an enterprise class router. But I don’t need that. I just need some clever router and VPN functions to go with a 40/10 FTTC broadband line.There is a Quick Setup that makes it work like most home routers – ethernet upstream internet connection, NAT and WiFi and a local subnet on the other ethernet ports.But you can reconfigure everything. You can assign different ethernet ports to different subnets, add firewall rules, configure a VPN server and also a VPN client. The WiFi supports virtual APs and I have 3 different virtual APs running,So right now I have Ethernet Port 1 connected to my upstream internet connection. Virtual AP1 also connects to my upstream internet connection. Ethernet Ports 2 and 3 are a local subnet which is NATed onto the internet connection. It has a Virtual Access Point too. The DHCP server for this subnet has customisations with its own ‘dhcp options’ for some SIP devices. Ethernet Port 4 is isolated from everything else and tied to a VPN connection to a far away VPN server. It also has a Virtual Access Point that is just linked (bridged) to this remote VPN server.Perfect for my quirky config at approx £25.RouterOS takes some getting used to. MikroTik hAP liteMikroTik hAP lite è un prodotto che non è adatto per persone con competenze basi nel campo dell’informatica, perché nella prima installazione ci si trova molto fuori strada. Prima di tutto si deve entrare nell’ip del router poi si deve configurare la password, i vari parametri del wifi, le porte LAN, la porta WAN e quindi a primo impatto non è semplicissimo da gestire, però lo consiglio magari a persone che lavorano nel campo delle telecomunicazioni, perché in fondo con pochi euro si può comprare un router che crea un captive portal gratis, cosa che la maggior parte dei gestori lo mette a pagamento mensile/annuale. Oltretutto è dotato di un sistema proprietario RouterOS.Ovviamente una volta installato si può anche comandare tramite l’app gratuita MikroTik che si trova sul Google Play Store di Android e sull’App Store di Apple.

Poco potente ed estremamente ostico nella configurazionePremettendo che non sono completamente a digiuno per quanto riguarda la configurazione delle reti, mi sento di dirvi di stare molto attenti prima di acquistare questo prodotto.Prima di tutto si tratta di un prodotto molto economico, ma allo stesso tempo estremamente potente. Purtroppo se non si è esperti, della potenza di questo router ne farete veramente ben poco se non nulla, anche a causa dell’hardware che non è assolutamente adeguato per gran parte delle funzionalità che il software offre.Vi elenco alcuni pro e contro che ho riscontrato nell’utilizzo:PRO:- Configurabile sotto ogni aspetto e offre infinite potenzialità- Basso consumo elettrico (5W sotto pieno carico)- Con il quick set è abbastanza semplice da configurare per un utente appena sopra la media per quanto riguarda la competenza tecnica, ma le opzioni sono predefinite.CONTRO:- Software estremamente ostico. Per comprenderne il funzionamento ed effettuare configurazioni manuali che vanno oltre semplici regole di firewalling e di routing, non basta essere utenti esperti, ma veri e propri professionisti.- Hardware sottodimensionato per le potenzialità. Moltissime funzionalità come ad esempio il protocollo di cifratura IKEv2, non potranno essere sfruttate adeguatamente in quanto la CPU non è abbastanza potente.- Anche il quick set presenta dei problemi: Se impostate un semplice PTP Bridge,o un AP Mode non riuscirete più ad accedere all’interfaccia di configurazione a causa di una regola di firewall che se non vi ricordate di disattivare prima della configurazione, vi blocca qualsiasi accesso diretto al router tramite indirizzo IP (Ma potete comunque accedere tramite MAC se avete avuto la fortuna di segnarvelo prima).- Se qualcosa va male, fare il reset è una vera tortura perché il tasto è piccolissimo e dovete premerlo prima di collegare l’alimentazione, quindi per farlo in comodità dovete avere qualcuno che vi aiuta e in più ci sono diversi livelli di reset con diversi tempi di pressione che dovete imparare a memoria se volete raggiungere il risultato desiderato.- La qualità costruttiva è veramente economica, i cavi ethernet si incastrano ed è difficile rimuoverli, ma per 25 euro ci può anche stare.Sconsiglio vivamente l’acquisto, se avete bisogno di un prodotto effettivamente potente e utilizzabile anche da non professionisti addetti al networking, vi consiglio di spostare la vostra attenzione su router basati su OpenWRT, se cercate bene ne esistono di più economici e allo stesso tempo più performanti di questo.

Router SERIO ad un prezzo ridicoloCome altre recensioni riportano, non e’ per principianti (anche se basta informarsi e anche un non esperto puo riuscire a fare quello che vuole).Inutile tentare di elencare le funzionalita, sarebbe impossibile: e’ un router VERO, con cui puoi riuscire a fare in scioltezza cio che i router “classici” nemmeno concepiscono, ha delle potenzialita’ enormi, appunto un router e non un ibrido modem router che ha migliaia di limitazioni (ad esempio: numero di regole di forward, porte e servizi controllabili, non esistono praticamente limiti). Stabilissimo nonostante la mia rete abbia un traffico notovole in entrata e in uscita, occupazione del processore che, stando attenti a come vengono generate e gestite le regole, resta davvero basso, dimostrando di avere una potenza di processazione piu’ che decente.Dopo un paio di ore spese a sistemare le regole di routing, e’ in funzione da quando l’ho acquistato e fa il suo lavoro in modo egregio, consuma 1/5 rispetto al precedente netgear, occupa uno spazio infinitesimale e mi permette finalmente di avere un controllo completo della mia rete (la funzione TORCH e’ spettacolare!!!!!)Per chiudere ha anche ampio supporto al protocollo SNMP.Un oggetto davvero superlativo ed un prezzo ridicolo.Ripeto, per poterlo usare si deve avere una minima idea di cosa sia il TCP-IP, poi la rete ci permettera di capire come fare per ottenere cio che ci si era prefissati.Soddisfattissimo, uno degli acquisti migliori fatti in vita mia.

Fa bene il suo lavoroEsteticamente non è un gran ché, tuttavia il sistema operativo è il classico Router-OS con tutte le sue funzioni. Si può usare come semplice router/access-point o, se si ha familiarità con la configurazione, fargli fare molte altre cose. Unico difetto: la memoria flash molto limitata a volte può creare problemi con l’aggiornamento del firmware. Si risolve disabilitando/rimuovendo i pacchetti non strettamente necessari e procedendo all’aggiornamento dei singoli pacchetti essenziali.

For simple application (WAP access to ethernet LAN) its great+ I had Ethernet, power but no wifi in one area of the house. This works perfectly. It comnes with a USB power supply and cable which isn’t obviousHowever some gotchas- its only 2.4GHz- It refuses to accept a country code. But works anyway. Normally this sets up what channels you are allowed to use.- It is much more capable than just a WAP as it is a full blown router that sits between two ethernet ports – one is designated WAN.- the instructions to access these more advanced screens are non existent. Like a TP-Link router I had years ago it is possible they don’t actually work anyway.Along with other commenters I am going to agree – if you want a very good 2.4GHZ WAP and you have ethernet and power there already, this is perfect.If you want a full featured boundary router complete with firewalls, access lists, port forwarding, NAT and the like, buy something with better support.

Avec une bonne paire d’heures de paramétrage (avec recherche sur le web, beaucoup de ressource en anglais pour cette marque), j’ai fait largement plus que j’en espérais :*** simuler plusieurs HOTSPOT Nintendo pour ma 3DS simultanément (et le tout sécurisé !) ***Pour ce faire j’ai créé plusieurs réseaux wi-fi non crypté avec chacun un SSID et une adresse MAC spécifique.Un filtrage MAC permet d’éviter de servir internet à mes voisins (ils sont peu nombreux et plutôt âgés, heureusement) !La configuration est assez délicate mais ça marche bien. Le routeur se met à jour automatiquement mais il faut faire par étape et comprendre les notions réseaux : wlan, vlan, bridge, ACL, etc. Des notions souvent cachées dans les matériels grand public.Un petit reproche : l’adaptateur secteur (micro USB) fourni a un faux contact. Heureusement, le problème n’était pas du côté du routeur !Un gros reproche : la documentation en ligne sous forme d’un wiki -english only- se s’adresse qu’à des spécialistes. Une introduction aurait été bienvenue.

Preiswerter Router/AP mit sehr großem FunktionsumfangHallo,wie alle Mikrotik-Geräte wird auch dieser mit dem RouterOS ausgeliefert. Der Funktionsumfang des RouterOS wiederum ist riesig. Wer sich etwas näher damit beschäftigt wird feststellen das man damit nahezu jedes netzwerktechnische Szenario abdecken kann – eine Begrenzung erfährt man nur durch den Lizenzlevel und die Leistungsfähigkeit der verbauten Hardware. Das einzige, was das RoterOS nicht beherrscht, ist die Telefonie-Geschichte – es gibt hier keine Möglichkeit ein VoIP-Anschluss in dem Router zu integrieren oder ein analoges/ISDN-Telefon an zu klemmen.Nichtsdestsotrotz ist die Konfiguration einer solchen Box kein triviales “ich-klicke-mich-durch-den-Assistenten-einfach-durch” wie es bei den Endverbraucherprodukten der gängigen Platzhirsche üblich ist. Die Einrichtung des RouterOS setzt wenigstens netzwerktechnische Grundkenntnisse voraus. Man sollte hier schon wissen was DHCP/DNS/Firewall/NAT/Routing usw. bedeuten und wie diese einzusetzen sind. Auch die verschiedenen WLan-Standards und zulässigen Frequenzbereiche sollten bekannt sein da diese Router nicht nur 803.11 beherrschen sondern auch noch ein paar properitäre Geschichten.Wer also so gar keine Ahnung in der Netzwerkerei hat und auch niemanden im Umfeld der sich mit derlei Geschichten auskennt sollte dringend die Finger von dem Produkt lassen um anschließende Entäuschungen zu vermeiden.

Fantastic – easy as an access pointWe had a couple of weeks at a holiday house where the wifi kept dropping out. Having verified the router was the issue (I’m an electronics engineer / IT guy by trade) but the wired connection was stable, I purchased one of these to use as an access point. Scarily easy to use ……1. Plug it in to the router2. Log on via wired or wifi to 192.168.88.13. Give it a name for the Wifi (optional) and a password for wifi4. Give it a password to log on to the access point for setup purposes – stops people hacking it if they get in to it through the wifi or LAN.Job done. This has now been stable for almost a week, no wifi drop outs or further issues and the signal around the house is a lot stronger than the wifi on the BT Homehub 3 which was causing the issues.

Sehr gutes Produkt, aber nichts für Anfänger.Ich habe nach einer Möglichkeit gesucht den Keller des Hauses mit W-Lan zu versorgen, benötigte gleichzeitig aber auch Ports für Kabelgebundene Geräte zu haben und das Gerät selbst auch per Kabel ins Netzwerk zu bekommen. Was ich vermeiden wollte waren 2 getrennte Geräte( Switch, WlanAP) sondern möglichst beides in einem ohne großes Brimborium. Im Grunde geht auch jeder andere Router, die sind aber Größer und teurer. Durch einen Artilkel bei Heise.de bin ich auf diesen kleinen Wunderkasten gestoßen, und nach zwei drei Tagen einlesen sehr glücklich damit.Mann sollte aber über solides Netzwerkwissen verfügen und bereit sein sich auch durch den Wiki zu arbeiten um die Funktionen Nutzen zu können .Das instalierte RouterOS ist “SEHR” umfangreich und eine ich klick das mal schnell zusammen Lösung existiert nicht.Solide Technik, Wahnsinns Funktionsumfang, kleiner Preis, und bei Bedarf auch hübsch anzuschauen. War mit Sicherheit nicht meine letzter.

Tiene una curva de aprendizaje algo elevada y solo cuenta con red de 2.4GHz y puertos FastEthernet (10/100mbps). Pero configurarlo como repetidor, amplificador de señal, router, vpn, bonding, VLAN, etc. es trivial una vez que conoces bien el equipo. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

But for the money it’s an extremely capable piece of kit.Mikrotik had been on my radar for some time now, but this was my first ‘toe in the water’ with them.It’s more capable than I could have imagined. VPN, proxy, firewall, port forwarding are all supported (along with a lot of other stuff that I’ll never make use of … like BGP, MPLS )I’m very happy with it, my next buy will probably be something slightly lager that supports POE, that’ll free me up to install some cameras and maybe POE powered WAPs at some point in the future.

Nichts für EndverbraucherUm es gleich vorwegzunehmen: Diese Rezension wird wahrscheinlich den technischen Features des Gerätes nicht gerecht. Ich denke, sie ist dennoch nützlich und wichtig. Denn gekauft habe ich diesen Router wegen der sehr überschwenglichen Rezensionen. Leider hat sich das Gerät für mich als nutzlos erwiesen, da ich mit den Möglichkeiten völlig überfordert bin. Damit andere nicht den gleichen Fehler begehen, verfasse ich diese Rezension.Angedachter Anwendungsfall: Eigentlich wollte ich nur ein paar Raspberry Pis per LAN-Kabel mit meinem Laptop oder anderen Rechnern verbinden. Das kann natürlich auch meine FritzBox, aber die steht im Haushalt an ungünstiger Stelle. Außerdem wollte ich ein kompaktes Gerät, das ich leicht rumtragen kann. Eigentlich ja nicht so kompliziert, so dachte ich.Leider war ich von der Oberfläche des Routers völlig erschlagen. Es gibt derart viele Menüs, Untermenüs und Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten, dass ich den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht mehr sehe. Ich gehöre zu den wenigen Leuten, die viel davon halten, Handbücher zu lesen. Im vorliegenden Fall hat mir das leider nicht weitergeholfen. Das Handbuch ist ausführlich, aber kaum ein Absatz ist mir verständlich, ohne Begriffe nachschlagen zu müssen. Die Zielgruppe sind hier ganz klar Leute, die schon viel Erfahrung mit der Einrichtung und Konfiguration von Netzwerken haben. Wer versiert mit seiner FritxBox oder einem ähnlichen Home-Router umgehen kann, wird sich hier noch lange nicht zurechtfinden.Schließlich habe mich hilfesuchend an den Netzwerkadministrator an meiner Arbeitsstelle gewendet. Dieser zeigte sich sehr beeindruckt von den vielfältigen Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten, musste aber letztlich vor der gestellten Aufgabe kapitulieren. Noch einmal: Es ging um nichts weiter als einen Raspberry Pi mit einem Laptop so zu verbinden, dass man den Raspberry Pi über eine feste IP ansprechen kann. Eigentlich trivial…Wer sich mit Netzwerken überdurchschnittlich gut auskennt und den zugehörigen technischen Jargon drauf hat, der mag hier glücklich werden. Für Endverbraucher ist dieses Gerät meiner Meinung nach nicht geeignet.

Need to know what your doing!I bought this since I already had a Mikrotik router elsewhere in the home. Used to bridge to a room where I have latency issues with wifi. After I managed to suss out what profile and settings to use, it’s doing a bang up job.Setup is following.Main Google wifi ->6 port hub -> main homeplug -> secondary homeplug -> MikroTik RB941 all via Ethernet cable.Blinding speed for such as small box and working as required.Only now need to figure out if I can use as a mesh device so I have 2 google wifi routers and a MikroTik RB941 in mesh mode.

Es un juguete genial.Por ese precio tienes infinidad de posibilidades. Aunque miktrotic no es para usuarios sin ningúna experiencia y sin ganas de complicarse la vida. Ahora bien con tiempo y tutoriales se puede usar para casi cualquier idea de redes imaginable. Lo he usado para una red wifi mesh, para un servidor vpn, como simple AP, como repetidor,… Pero para dejarlo con una configuración predeterminada y ya yo creo que es mejor comprar un aparato mas simple y menos lioso.

Mikrotik no tiene rival.Mikrotik es una marca que mantiene unos estandares de calidad impresionantes y es imposible conseguir por este precio en otra marca todo lo que hace este aparato.El sistema operativo RouterOS simplemente es impresionante, se pueden hacer cosas que otros dispositivos ni siquiera soñarian.La versatibilidad de acceso esta muy bien, se puede usar la pagina web o usar el programa propietario de Mikrotik llamado Winbox desde los cuales podemos configurar el router a nuestra conveniencia.Con este router de 26 euros podria configurarlo para balancear la carga de varios provedores de servicios, utilizarlo de Bridge inalambrico y decenas de roles de utilidad.Este o cualquier routerboard de Mikrotik son muy buenos, pero en verdad lo poderoso de la marca es que todos usan el mismo sistema operativo que es el rey: ROUTEROS.Uno no se puede equivocar comprando esta marca, 100% recomendado para cualquier usuario que tenga conocimientos avanzados en redes.

Mit der Quick-Konfiguration, wo man Einsatzprofile auswählen kann, auch für die weniger Versierten handelbar. Wer Ahnung vonRouting und Switch-Funktionalitäten ala Cisco hat kommt damit bestimmt gut zurecht.Die beiliegende Doku ist mehr als spartanisch. Auf der Homepage des Anbieters muss man sich die Informationen zusammen suchen. Ich würde mir wünschen, dass die Quick-Konfigurations-Profile kurz in der beiliegenden Doku erklärt würden. Oder wer weiß aus dem Stand, wofür WISH AP steht?

Dicho esto, compré dos hap lite para realizar prácticas (todos los Mikrotik utilizan el miso sistema operativo), y no dejar a la familia sin Internet. Jajaja, que estaban a punto de echarme a los perros.

A very good advanced router for half the price of a “consumer friendly” routerThis is a VERY good router for half the cost of a “consumer” router with 1 big caveat that you have to know about networking protocols/terms to get it working to it’s full potential. It has a “quick start” menu which will get it up and running with the minimum configuration but delve into the “advanced” menu and things quickly become confusing ( you can brick the router if you are not careful which can be reset by pressing a button on the back of the router and support forums are available to help should you have any problems) you can also set up a paid hotspot if you happen to own a business using your own template or a third party service. all in all an excellent router for the price.

Take your time, read the instructions, check out the mikrotik forums and it will do exactly what you need it to do. Better wifi range than any other that I have tried.If you kind of think you know your port forwarding and you like to tinker for hours with these things, Buy a Netgear or Linksys. Nowhere near as good as one of these, but those routers are far easier to use, more expensive, and more likely to fail you than one of these tiny Mikrotiks.Another good point is they can run off a spare USB socket. Mine is plugged into a SKY box for it’s power.

Un producto muy completoEs genial, la única pega es que no es Gigaethernet, algo que tampoco me supone un problema porque tengo instalado cable de categoría 5E. Por lo demás es un aparato sensacional, su sistema operativo es muy completo, además es compacto y tiene un diseño exterior muy bonito. Como router auxiliar para mi habitación es maravilloso. Esattamente quello che cercavo!Come da titolo è esattamente il prodotto che cercavo!Ero disposto a spendere anche di più ma per circa 25€ ho portato a casa un Router configurabile in tutti i modi mi venga in mente.Ha soddisfatto a pieno le mie esigenze che erano:- VPN Client PPTP e OpenVPN (Ho messo sotto VPN un dispositivo di mia scelta)- Script e scheduling (sono riuscito a impostare uno scheduler che spegne il wifi di notte e lo riaccende di mattina)Ovviamente non è di facile comprensione e richiede un livello medio alto di conoscenza sulle reti ma la community Mikrotik è molto attiva e si trovano molte discussioni online.Lo reputo davvero un prodotto professionale e credo che darò fiducia nuovamente a questo marchio nel futuro.

Died within an hour, probably for the best…Maybe I was unlucky but at first this item had the weakest wifi signal I’ve ever experienced and then just died. Lights are on but nobodies at home, wifi signal is gone, unable to connect via ethernet either and have tried dozens of resets holding down the reset button both before and after connecting power.Can’t even return it as my broadband details are possibly still on this awful product. Swear I’ve never encountered such a poor router in 25 years.

Soy ingeniero y certificado CISCO.Los primeros tiempo se hace complicado entender como se configura el mikrotik.Cuando se entiende, es increible: Se puede configurar cualquier cosa.Ahora tengo dos linea DSL en load balancing, con un ancho de banda de 30Mb/sEso router en especifico, no es para nada el mejor de mikrotik.Decidieron usar una entrada micro-USB para la toma de corriente, y esa fue la decision peor.El microUSB tiene contactos muy chicos, y es sujeto a perdidas de alimentacion.Resultado: si enciendo el wifi, la potencia no es suficiente, y el router sigue reiniciandose.Igual resolviendo el problema de alimentacion, encontrando la posicion donde se queda encendido, el router no tiene la potencia necesaria para manejar 20 conexiones wifi al mismo tiempo, y es necesario reiniciarlo.El hardware es muy pobre.El software es increible.Les consejo de comprar directamente el router mikrotik de calidad un poco superior, si tienen intencion de utilizarlo como router y como hotspot wifi.

Increible equipo, para el precio que tieneTras varios días testeando el dispositivo, y con algunos conocimientos de routeros que es el sistema que trae, puedes descubrir que es un dispositivo muy pontente para el precio que tiene, se pueden hacer casi todas las funciones que presta routeros en dispositivos con un precio muy superior, yo lo he usado en esta ocasión para dar servicio de wifi y cableado a una zona donde no tenia casi señal, facilmente configuras un brigde y esta funcionando. Lo he probado en casa como router doméstico y también me ha ofrecido mucha versatilidad, vpn, priorizar paquetes para voip, limites de velocidad, hotspot, es muy completo.Lo recomiendo al 100% eso si, no pienses que en 10 minutos puedes empezar hacer todo esto, son necesarios varios tutoriales y tiempo, pero es un mundo nuevo de posibilidades

Perché comprare altri prodotti?Per il prezzo che ha (25€ al momento) questo router/access point è semplicemente fantastico, non si può chiedere di meglio.Altamente configurabile come tutti i prodotti Mikrotik, ma allo stesso tempo ha una schermata di “wizard” in cui si possono impostare i parametri principali con pochi semplici click. Portata del wifi buona. Che altro dire, non vedo altri prodotti che forniscano le stesse caratteistiche e prestazioni, anche a prezzi più elevati. In ufficio abbiamo comprato questo per sostituire un Netgear (pagato almeno 3 volte tanto) che non ci ha mai soddisfatto per continui blocchi e segnale scarso.Se proprio vogliamo trovargli un difetto, non ha i ganci per essere appeso al muro. Se per voi sono indispensabili esistono altri prodotti Mikrotik che li hanno, orientatevi su altri modelli.

Il prodotto è eccellente per il prezzo e permette un livello di configurazione spaventoso, semplicemente inimmaginabile sui firmware degli altri dispositivi commerciali più comuni. RouterOS di Mikrotik è potente ma necessita di una conoscenza approfondita, quindi potrebbe non essere adatto a chi mastica poco di reti. La copertura del Wifi non è eccezionale ma, come già detto, a questo prezzo non si può pretendere di più!

Inconfigurabile. Prestazioni scarseNon so chi abbia partorito questo obbrobrio, da un’interfaccia di configurazione caotica, criptica, con terminologia proprietaria mai sentita. Non so come qualcuno possa difendere questo prodotto. Dopo svariati tentativi e continui reset, sono riuscito a configurarlo come repeater ma con prestazioni scarsissime. Un cinese da 12 euro fa meglio di lui. Altamente sconsigliato

Never Ever Buy this ProductThe worst product I had ever used.U can’t even reset it through reset button. It’s doesn’t even work fine after every minute is lost the connection even it is connected through LAN.
